  2. My mother is such a special person. So self-less, always helping out and going the extra mile to assist my husband and I with my daughter. She has to fly from Minneapolis to D.C. to watch our daughter, but if we need her, she’ll be on a plane within hours. She’s the best!

    1. My little sister! Actually any of my 3 sisters. No one can come between us (within the 4 of us we might take sides .haha) but it’s always the 4 of us! My eldest sister is the only one with kids and I love how that bond dhe nurtured has organically come about with my niece and nephews.

    1. I am planning to get my parents and extra special gift this Christmas. They are both going the extra mile to help with my wedding, even after my dad lost his job. 1. My husband is always and forever my special person and he deserves a special gift this year though we both agreed for finances sake we wouldn’t do Christmas gifts. One of my dearest friends since childhood, Melanie, is someone who I always like to make sure receives special gifts during the holiday season.

Since fourth grade, she has been by my side through thick and thin. She is one of the most selfless, kind and understanding people I have ever met. It truly is a blessing having her in my life.

In her own life, she has lost her mother young and suffered her own life-threatening illnesses, but she has always persevered through life’s storms with a positive attitude and always manages to find the good in every situation and the good in people. Her career now centers on helping adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities — a further testament to her character.

She is truly a generous soul, and because she is always there for those in her life who need her, she is someone who, around the holidays especially, I like to make sure is thought of and shown just how much she is appreciated.

  122. I have to say my husband. He works so incredibly hard for our family, often flying out of town for meetings and when he comes back he’s tired, but he lights up when he sees our four kids. Spending time with each one and making them feel like are the only ones in the room. He finds time to create diy projects on our home, whisk me away on date nights. Always available for his family. They just deserve the world. Thank you for the gift guides!

  129. I’m really excited about giving my boyfriend a gift this year. This is my first long term relationship and our first Christmas together. And even when our dog is having a lazy day, they let him do that too and send us the cutest photos!!

  148. My husband deserves something extra special this Christmas. This year has proved to be a tough one for us as he battled cancer, diagnosed in July. He continued to work while going to chemotherapy and appointments, as he is the main provider for our family . He would came home from chemotherapy and jump right into Dad duties insisting he felt okay even though I could see he was tired. He never missed a beat waking up in the middle of the night with me to help with our twin baby girls. He continued to walk our Son to and from school and was determined to not let them know anything was different in our life. He is always putting his family before himself, even when he is sick. He truly deserves something special just for himself this year. Thank you for the consideration.

No kids for me (yet!) but both of my sisters have baby girls (one is 10 months and the other is 12 weeks) and she keeps them everyday and it is so so special to see the bond they are already building with her as well. 154. Love love love this post idea! Haven’t seen anything else like it among all the gift guides flying around! The special someone in my life is my older sister – she deserves all the love this holiday season (and always), as she has been battling life-threatening lung illness on top of mental illness for the past 3 years, but she still remains the MOST resilient, happy, and selfless person on the planet. I’m in constant awe! Her 30th birthday is coming up in early January and I’m hoping to spoil her for weeks! Happy holidays to you & yours, Liz!

  168. I live in a pretty urban area, so this isn’t very common here (I don’t think), but I want to give something to our garbage truck drivers. When my son hears them coming in the alley he runs out to our porch to watch, and they are honking and waving to him almost every time while emptying out the huge trash cans. It’s his favorite time of day and they’re so sweet – we live in a place where people generally keep to themselves, so I truly appreciate it.

  169. This is such a great and unique idea! I’ve never seen a guide around these people but they can be the toughest to shop for – Thanks!

  170. I know these are meant to be gift guides for other people, but I have been using them to pin things I want for my own list! So thank you thank you thank you – you’ve made the lives of my boyfriend, sister, and parents MUCH easier.

She is married and semi-retired and her children have grown and moved off. She does big and little acts of kindness that have meant more to me than she will ever known. She came over in the middle of the night to spend the night with my first born when I went into labor with my second child. I cherish all the time I can get with her. 🙂

  273. Your gift guides are great, thank you so much for all of these amazing ideas. The person I will buy a special gift for is my selfless husband. We just had our 3rd baby and he is stepping up and leaning in to all things, all the while balancing the stress of his daily work. Not to mention the “wrath” of my hormones at this point…he deserves to be treated to something. (And so do I – and I have been focusing on my self-care which I’m so proud of. 276. My mom is a very special person to all. If you ask anyone they will tell you that she would drop everything to help out. Had my second baby this fall and took time off work to come help me out. When my daughter got a fever when my son was only a few weeks old she immediately left work and drove to my house (we live three hours apart) to take care of my daughter so my son wouldn’t get sick. We don’t tell her enough but we appreciate everything she does!

  280. My roommate is such a special person! She is always so thoughtful and doing little things like keeping the common space clean and leaving nice notes around when i’m having a rough week. He works so hard everyday and never complains. If anything he seems to do more like help with cooking, baths, and night time routines . I feel like it’s easy to get lost on our spouses At the holidays because as a team we are so focused on all of our other family members, kids, teachers. 304. Christmas for me is not just about giving, but also about giving back. My dad is the person I want to dedicate this post to. I feel like I owe him the world for everything he’s done for me. Yet, there is absolutely no way I could ever give him back what he’s given me. No way to thank him enough. He knows this, and he doesn’t not care about my debt to him, which makes it even larger. This Christmas, I want to take the chance to make something meaningful to appreciate my father, a retired, lonely and sick man who just turned 70.

  305. So I just ordered the Echo Dot for my hubby for Christmas and I’m really curious how he will like it! I think he might get addicted!

I adore her and every moment I get to spend with her! 🙂

  314. The special person who deserves an extra special gift in my life is my mom. She is a great mom to four daughters (you can imagine what that must have been like) and now she is a grandmother to five grandsons (all 5 and under)! She is available whenever anyone in the family needs her and despite just having knee replacement surgery, she and my dad are hosting the entire family for Christmas! Simply the best!

    Xoxo

  325. I can’t pick one person, so I’ll mention two: my sisters! They have both endured quite a bit recently – mentally, physically, emotionally – and they handle it with all with such grace. Even though we all live in different states, we are each other’s best pals and biggest advocates. I couldn’t get through life without them!!

  326. Getting an extra special gift for my mother in law this year! She just started watching my son when I went back to work full-time and she is doing such a great job. Just want to show her a little bit of extra appreciation this year 🙂

  340. My husband ❤️ He was working, studying for his master degrees and caring for our son Lorenz at the same time while I was finishing my studies at medical school. It was a hard time, but he was giving us whatever we needed. He is such a wonderful father, husband and simply my best friend! ❤️

  341. Would love to gift the card to my little sister. She the mother of 2 under 6, my brother-in-law travels so much for work, she’s on her own many times for keeping everything going. Would love her to have the dust cards for some self-care options.

  342. This will sound weird at first, but I’d like to get gifts for my ex husband’s kids. They don’t have a lot of money, and he has two little daughters aged 2 and 4, and the 2 year old is battling brain cancer. They actually posted an Amazon wish list on their Facebook page a few weeks ago, because they are about to start her on chemo again in a couple of weeks, so they are trying to celebrate Christmas early and when I saw that I decided I’d really like to get them a couple of gifts to help bring some cheer to their holiday during a difficult time.

  343. I am helping to “adopt a family” for Christmas this year to help make their Christmas more joyful. They are my special people for this Christmas this year. 🙂

  347. My special person is my mother as her generosity and willingness to put herself before others is what I strive to live up too.

  348. We all know, as moms, it takes village to do it all. I couldn’t do my job well if it weren’t for our amazing nanny. She is the best and we love her so much!

  349. two friends! one recently engaged, the other just made it through her second child’s first year (it was a big shift from only one child!).

  350. My mother in law and my husband both deserve extra special gifts this year. My MIL just had a brain aneurysm in the past month and is recovering so well (thankfully), but has obviously been going through so much. My husband has worked so hard to take care of her (only child to a single mom) while being the best husband and father to me and our 1 year old. They are the best and could use a little extra love this season!

  351. My mom is my special person. My dad died right before Memorial Day this year. She had been with my dad since she was 16- nearly 60 years! She was the love of his life. We all miss him terribly but it is always different when your best friend is gone. As she said, the sun shines a little dimmer without him here. I would like to make her Christmas a little more special this year.

  352. My mom deserves all the special gifts and more! She wants nothing more than for my husband and I to have our own family and has been so supportive through the struggles we have had with that this year.

  353. My mom is the most selfless person I know. Despite her recent diagnosis of metastatic cancer and induction of her treatments, she only thinks of those around her. She was previously a volunteer at a local hospital. A driving force during her treatments is the prospect of one day being able to return to her volunteer work!

  354. My sisters would deserve a special treat! They work hard to raise their kids and have always shown me what a good mom looks like! ❤️ Can’t wait to be a mom myself one day!

  358. My mom and dad both deserve extra special gifts this year! They each sacrificed vacations and extra spending money to help me plan / execute my wedding in October. And they never once complained. Now it’s my turn to give them some special goodies in return!

  359. My mom! She is the best. I moved away for a job and better weather. I know it’s extra hard around the holidays. She was that mom that was so dependable. I quickly realized not everyone had a mom like I did. I love her so much and even though things are difficult for us at times I always want her to remember the treasure she is to our family.

Liz I love how kind and thoughtful you are with your gift guides and giveaways!

  360. My best friend deserves something special. She is going through some family stuff and will not be able to be with them on Thanksgiving.

  362. My mom deserves an extra gift because I am in grad school right now and she is saving my butt helping me out with everything. Whether it is laundry or lending me money she is helping me get through the 12+ hour days of class and studying. She deserves more than any gift there is.

  363. I want to take a moment and gush about my mother. She is the most selfless person I know and focuses solely on my sister, me and our dad—until one of us forces her to take time for herself. She spent 11 years taking care of her father (my grandfather) after my grandmother passed, so it’s hard for her to do anything other than take care of/support the rest of us. Therefore, it’s my mission in life to make sure she knows how wonderful she is and that she now takes much needed time for herself. She’s my best friend and the best role model. I can’t wait for our (future) kids to have such an incredible, thoughtful woman in their lives!

  364. My sister! She’s a single mom, working several jobs just to keep up. She’s completely selfless and always deserves a little something special.

  365. Love these thoughtful gifts! My mom deserves one – no other reason needed! My sister is also in the wedding planning process so would love to give her a gift like the Tula skincare kit to relax 🙂

  366. My best friend! She’s celebrating her first holiday season after traumatically losing her dad a few days Christmas last year – would love to give her a little extra loving this Christmas!

  367. My daughters daycare teacher Debbie. She is my first child and I had such a hard time going back to work. Knowing she was so well loved and cared for at school made all the difference. Debbie is a saint and loves those kids like her own and I am so thankful for her!

  368. Johanna Mackenzie deserves an extra special gift. I’ve known her for almost ten years and lately I do not get to see her very often – sometimes not even once in a year – but she’s always on my mind. She was my French teacher growing up and I watched her kiddos from time to time. She’s always been an inspiration to me. She loving, caring and so kind. She’s always uplifting and deserves to know how loved she is!

  369. Love this post. I needed ideas for our amazing nanny! She deserves the best because she is a absolutely amazing with our son!

  372. My husband, my saint – he has taken care of me and my son without one complaint during the past three months and two surgeries later and we are so swamped with medical bills it will be a very light Xmas this year!

  373. My mom. She deserves the best. She worked really hard throughout her life as a waitress and rarely asks for anything. All she wanted was for her family to have food on the table and warm clothes to wear.

  374. 👏🏼👏🏼 Great pics! And this reminds me to think of all of those people I might not have thought of yet for the holidays!

  375. Gifts for my sons teachers! As a teacher myself I’ve always vowed to acknowledge them at the holidays—even if it’s just a card and something small.

  376. Just moved into a new house and my parents have been amazingly helpful would love to buy a few of these as a thank you to Mom!

  377. Love these ideas! My mom and sister always deserve a little extra love. I know they would both love the ice roller you suggested!!

  378. I work in a school and there is a selfless woman who works in our cafeteria. The care and kindness she extends to our students
is remarkable. She knows all their names and takes the time to connect with them personally. This is no small feat given it is a middle school with almost 900 students. She is deserving and yet expects nothing.

  379. My special someone would be one of my best friend’s who has had my back through some less fun times this year.

  380. As a teacher I would be THRILLED to get any of these, especially any of the Tula products or cute tote!

A special person who deserves extra this year is one of my best friends. She lost her mom to cancer this year and is also a fellow teacher. She is constantly thinking of others and tries her best to honor her mom every day. I feel so lucky to have her in my life and hope to bring as much joy as possible to her during the holidays!

  381. My sister is such a hard working and caring person. Even though she’s younger than me, I really look up to her. She has struggled and persevered through so much and still has a positive look on life. I can’t wait to visit her and spend some sister time in Colorado after the new year 🙂

  382. I always think my mom deserves a special gift. We lost my dad to cancer when I was 24. My mom cared for him for 12 years while he battled 3 kinds of cancer. To this day, she still puts everyone else above herself and deserves to be treated like the queen she is!

  383. My sister deserves an extra special gift! She is going through something very difficult right now and deserves to be pampered and showed how much people care about her.

  384. My MIL has been such a blessing in my life over the last few years. She’s an awesome grandma and such a thoughtful person! She for sure deserves a special gift.

  385. I am definitely putting the yeti mug, face roller and journals on my list!! Perfect stocking stuffers! Please and thank you, santa! ❤️

  386. My neighbor would love so many of these thoughtful gifts! Perfect to spread the holiday cheer and should how much I appreciate them!

  387. My boys teachers deserve an extra special gift this holiday-they work so hard and take amazing care of their kids!

  388. This is such a sweet thing that you are doing. If I had to pick one person to spoil this season it would definitely be my sister! She is a single mom of two kids and she works two jobs to provide the life she wants for her kids. She also finds the time to take care of my parents who have been having health issues. Forever thankful for her!

  389. Besides my amazing husband, my sister is the best and deserves all the good things 🙂 She’s worked her butt off building a business over the last few years and it is taking off – it’s inspiring and I’m so proud of her.

  390. My kids teachers deserve so much more than they get. I used to be a teacher so I have a huge soft spot for all of them!!

  391. I’ve been widowed for several years and have no children. My oldest niece was 6 years old when my husband died and she told me she would take care of me when I got old. (Yes – I cried!) Well, now I’m getting old and she checks on me, invites me to all of her family get togethers and I’m positive she would drop everything to help me if I was in need. She’s so special to me and our entire family. She deserves all the good things in life.

  392. My sister-in-law definitely needs an extra special gift. She devoted the past 18 months being the care giver for her hubby. She has so much light and love and patience that I will forever look up to. 💜🌈

  393. Wonderful ideas… I’ve been searching for the perfect gifts for my kids’ preschool teachers who truly are angels on Earth!

  394. My aunt deserves this! She literally always has the coolest/most thoughtful/best gift ideas and does so much for her nieces and nephews + for our kids. Would be fun to layer some amazon dollars in to her gift this year. She is an avid reader, and likely would use it all on filling up her Kindle even more!

  395. My mom! She is retired but volunteering to teach English as a second language to immigrants preparing for their citizenship test.

  396. My mother is that special someone. She’s a strong lady who raised five strong-willed daughters, and has been fighting a rare blood cancer for the last 10 years. She deserves more than we could ever give her.

  397. My mother is a very special person to me. This year unfortunately she will be working through the holidays. She always goes above and beyond for others. Difficult to explain.

  398. So many great ideas! Love the flats and eye masks for our Nanny, Miss Rissa. I don’t know how she watches two toddlers ALL day. She deserves everything in this post! And a nap.

  399. My two nephews are my favorite little guys in the world and deserve a special prize from their aunt! ♥️ Loved your gift guide for kids, it’ll be super helpful!

  400. My mother is my special person. She deserves so much. She is always going out of her way to help others and she always puts herself last. So a sweet little gift like this would be perfect for her.

  401. My sister deserves something special. She is selfless, constantly putting others above her. Last year when my son was just a week old my husband’s brother passed away and he had to travel. Without a moment’s notice she jumped on a plane (with multiple legs to her trip) and drove 2.5 hours to be here for us because “that’s what sisters do”. This is just one example of how she would do anything to help others.

  402. Whenever I see gift guides centered around self-care, I always think of my mom. As a teacher/mom/grandma, she’s notorious for putting her self last. Some of these ideas would be perfect for her!

  403. My mom is so deserving of a special gift. She is incredibly helpless and would literally do anything for anyone. In general, I feel her life has dealt her a tough hand and she deserves all the happiness.

  404. My parents are special people I’d like to get wonderful gifts for because they help me care for my son while my husband is away. I couldn’t do motherhood without their help!

  405. I honestly have my closest friends to thank for their constant support and friendship. I always have them to lean on, have plenty of good times (and wine!), and give me the advice I need.

  406. Love this gift guide so much! I actually already have the ice roller and it feels so amazing on your face after washing! It really does help if you’re feeling puffy. I would prob get the cashmere scarf for my beloved nail lady who has been doing my mani and pedi’s for the last 6 years. She’s just the sweetest and I just love seeing her every month.

  407. My mom. She deserved the world. Thank god she lives 10 minutes away. Not only does she watch my daughter multiple times a week but always is the first to bring us dinner on busy nights, soup when we’re sick, or even come in the middle of the night to help my crying baby while I had food poisoning.
