Ok I’m pretty proud of this gift idea – a photo printer that can print photos from your iPhone! Isn’t this the best gift for in-laws/parents who maybe aren’t super tech savvy? YES.

This tea kettle would get so much use during the cold winter months and I love the sleek design!

Relaxing pillow mist because who wouldn’t want this after a long day?! Pair with a cozy throw!

    1. My favorite Christmas traditions are watching hallmark movies, making Christmas cookies, and sitting around the tree with family!

  1. This guide is amazing!! My favorite tradition is getting together for a big family dinner at my in-laws house. It’s fun to be around so many people on Christmas, and it makes the special-ness of the whole day last longer!

    1. Such great ideas! My favorite holiday tradition is going downtown (Chicago) the day after Christmas every year to visit a different museum and then go out for drinks and a burger at Millers Pub!

  2. Favorite tradition is watching Home Alone with my sisters and brother in law Thanksgiving weekend! Puts me right in the holiday spirit!

  3. Christmas Eve is my favorite. We sit around the tree with glass bottle of Coke (preferably with the yearly santa design) and talk about the year and what we are grateful for.

  4. We do a family skate with my husband’s family before dinner on Christmas Eve. It made me dust off my skates having not skated in about 25 years!

  5. Everyone opens up matching Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve to wear to bed! Nothing beats everyone running downstairs to see the tree in all our matching PJs, especially the little kiddos.

    1. Still working on our own little family traditions but love seeing family friends on Christmas Eve- we’ve done it as long as I can remember.

  6. My favorite tradition is hosting Christmas Eve. Unfortunately since moving to NYC from Chicago this past summer we won’t be hosting but I plan to cook my infamous appetizers wherever we celebrate Christmas Eve!

  7. Favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve with my family. We get christmas pajamas and read the night before Christmas. I can wait to do this with my son this year.

  8. My favorite holiday tradition is going to my great grandmothers house with my immediate family. Her cooking and home will always be so special to me!

  9. I’m excited to start a new tradition this year in a new city, Washington DC. I’m excited to host my parents here and start new traditions together as they come to my new home.

  10. My favorite holiday tradition is making and decorating cookies on Christmas Eve. The plate would be a perfect place to display them!

  11. We love driving around to see Christmas lights and we have an annual trip to a Chicago before Christmas to kick off the holiday season!

  12. It is hard to narrow down, but I think my most favorite tradition over the holidays is our Christmas Eve. After church and a big meal, the kids get to open one present before leaving cookies for Santa and heading to bed. I set up what they call “the string game”; each child has to follow a piece of yarn all over the basement to find their gift at the end- they love it!

P.S. The platter is beautiful! I have just begun hosting Christmas at our home and this would be a perfect addition!

  13. My dad still makes my sister and I sit on the stairs Christmas morning in our pjs and take a picture before coming downstairs to open presents

  14. My boys favorite holiday tradition is getting their personal trees put in their bedroom and their special Santa’s set out in the Family Room. Their comments every year are the same, “It looks beautiful” and it’s just a few simple things that mean the most to them. I remember mine used to be a special snowman snowglobe when I was little. So I’m happy to continue something that’s special to them that they will remember. Plus we are patiently awaiting their sisters arrival, due Dec 20!

  15. My family has never been one for traditions, but one thing that did stick is gingerbread house parties! Every since I was in Pre-K, my dad has made gingerbread houses for my class and we hosted these parties until high school. The tradition has now passed down to my nieces and nephews, and my dad makes ~100 gingerbread houses for their classmates every year! He bakes for weeks in advance and it’s really the sweetest thing to see continue for 20+ years. 💛

  16. My favorite tradition is visiting Krohn Conservatory and the Live Nativity Scene in Cincinnati- my mom took us there every year as kids and now I take my kids when we are in town for Christmas!

  17. My family’s Christmas tradition is a large and festive (and often themed) Christmas Eve celebration that rotates between 5 families homes each year. There is great food, games, gift exchanges.. and the kids all have a ball together. Perfect and simple and provide some really special memories. Our family is hosting next year and this platter would be perfect for our spread!

  18. I love this line. I have the small bread plates and cherish them as a fun holiday accent to my place settings. I love my families Christmas Eve tradition. Appetizers/wine at our favorite Italian restaurant downtown Detroit, then church, and finally home for dinner and Secret Santa gift exchange (and more wine) ❤️

  19. My favorite tradition is homemade appetizers for Christmas Eve dinner followed by It’s a Wonderful Life! We love relaxing at home all cozy.

  20. What I love about Christmas is all the traditions! So hard to narrow it down. I love Christmas Eve, from going to church and then a beautiful dinner together and reading the polar express and the grinch to my son in front of the tree before bed.

  21. On Christmas Eve our immediate family does gifts, appetizers, games and too much wine. It’s my favorite day of the year.

  22. A favorite holiday tradition of ours is to get Chinese take out and watch “The Family Stone” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Christmas Eve!

  23. We always exchange Christmas PJs on Christmas Eve so we have new pajamas to wear while opening presents in the morning! 🎄❤️

    1. Since we spend Christmas with my husband’s family, my side of the family designates another day to celebrate. We start with brunch and slowly exchange presents throughout the day, play games, watch movies (including a homemade movie that recaps the year in pictures and short video clips!), etc. Its such a fun and relaxing day.

  24. I love that we always do gifts on Christmas Eve and stockings from Santa on Christmas Day! It always made for such a relaxing day and the fun was solidly spread over two days!

  25. Christmas pajamas with the whole family & we all sleep over at my in-laws house so we still wake up all together for Christmas morning.

  26. Traditions are the best, aren’t they? My favorite is Christmas morning as kids we sat at top of the stairs and waited for my Dad to “check it Santa came” (aka put on the coffee for he and my mom haha) and the signal that he came was he would blast the “Hallelujah Chorus” and we’d all run down screaming. Still do it to this day- all grown up and with kids of our own:)

  27. I love baking Christmas cookies each year with my family, as well as cutting down our fresh tree the day after Thanksgiving!

  28. Every Black Friday we load up the car and drive out to a tree farm to cut our tree and take a sleigh ride! On the way back we always stop at a local burger place! Going on 5 years of this with our three boys

  29. My favorite holiday tradition is going to our Christmas Eve service at church and then coming home and having homemade eggnog as a family before bed! Then we wake up and exchange gifts!

  30. My favorite holiday tradition is our extended family gift exchange! Instead of buying something, we each draw a name earlier in the year and make a gift for that person. It’s so fun watching everyone get creative with their homemade gifts!

  31. Favorite holiday tradition is a Christmas Eve hike with my siblings and the cousins on my dad’s side and one aunt and uncle pair in the Blue Hills, which are in our hometown. Inevitably it ends up with my uncle going off the typical trails and adding at least 1-2 hours to the hike, with setting sun always serving as a threat. It started as a way to get us kids out of the house while my mum prepared the Christmas Eve feast.

  32. A favorite holiday tradition includes buying/opening new pajamas on Christmas Eve and then hopping in the card to drive around and look at Christmas lights! Everyone still wears their Santa hats!

  33. Now that our kids are older I look back on all the “effort” I put into making the holidays special and feel so glad that I did! There are a lot of special memories, but one tradition I treasure is taking our kiddos downtown every Christmas to see all the sights/holiday happenings.

  34. Every year we do a white elephant with the adults with good gifts and it get so competitive and it’s so fun!

  35. Every year Christmas shopping with my mom in Oakbrook until I lost her to cancer almost 3 years ago. She sent me James a year after she passed and I now get to carry the tradition on with my little guy! It’s so special to me!

  36. When we were little we would sleep under the Christmas tree waiting to catch Santa. My parents thought we would grow out of it, but it became a tradition that all four of us continued through college. Now, all the grandkids sleep under the tree. There is something so magical about falling asleep under a lit tree and waking up surrounded by family (and gifts!).

  37. Eating leftover pie for breakfast! Now that my kids are finally getting bigger it seems like a whole new world of traditions is opening up and it’s such a joy to watch them, I have no idea what my new favorite will be with them:)

  38. We love to get a new ornament that represents each year! This year we have two babies first Christmas ornaments for our twin girls!

  42. We make cinnamon rolls every Christmas morning. Our funky Christmas tradition that my family does, and we also did when we were kids, was that everyone had to bring a laundry basket down to open presents. All present went in the basket and up to our rooms after we were done! All of our childhood Christmas photos have laundry baskets in them 😂

  43. Every Christmas morning growing up my mom made homemade cinnamon rolls in a Christmas tree shaped pan and now it’s my turn to carry on the tradition!

  55. Love these ideas!!!

We are a young family with 2 toddlers (3.5 and 2!), and we don’t live nearby to grandparents or other cousins. So our favorite tradition is about a week before Christmas, cooking a big fancy lunch and white elephant swap for our local friends. It makes us feel like we have family in these friendships, but doesn’t take away anyone from their nearby families on actual Christmas holidays. Every year the kid chaos just gets better and better!

  65. On Christmas Eve we make Rueben sandwiches (taken from my late MIL) and the kids now 14, 13, 10 sleep together in my older daughters room. In the morning they wait patiently in the room until we come up to get them after we have turned the tree on, fire going, and Christmas music playing.

  66. We host Christmas Eve dinner with family and friends. Everyone brings something favorite from their own family Christmases. We have some great new dishes to try and fun games.

Even though my sisters and I live in different states now we video chat and all watch the movies “together” each year along with our own kids!

  85. My family has always either gone out to one of our favorite fancy restaurants or cooked a really fun meal together either on Christmas Eve or the day after Christmas. Even though we are all grown now (I’m 28 for context) it is still a tradition my siblings, parents and I all cherish. They are always so excited and watching them enjoy their treats brings us so much joy. And then staying up another 3-4 hours getting the gifts out and putting the toys together.

Anyway, my parents have the most classic beautiful red Christmas tree plates, these special Irish coffee mugs and egg nog glasses we use during the holidays. My aunt has a whole Christmas village from when all the parents lived in st. Thomas in the 70s and it’s amazing. We’re from fort Myers beach so it’s hot and we all dance around to calypso Christmas music on Christmas Eve with our egg nog glasses and it’s great. Now we’re all adults with families of our own and some how all our kids favorite songs are their calypso record haha the tradition lives on!

Even though we are all grown up, she will pulls it out and puts her Christmas cookies out for everyone who comes by to help themselves. It’s the best tradition and we always served “Santa’s favorite Greek cookie” haha. I just got married and I cannot already wait to have my own Santa plate for our family. Your post hit the nail with me about traditions and that nostalgic feeling this time of year and I smiled reading it – right there with you! Happy Holidays! Xx

  181. My family has been doing matching Christmas jammies for as long as I can remember! My husband even proposed on Christmas Eve (2011) by having special PJs and an ornament made. While spending time with family is most important and fills me with so much joy / every holiday season, my girlfriends and I get all dressed up and enjoy an evening or laughter, tears, wine and pasta. Each year, we rotate houses/hosts. We reminisce over the last year, highs/lows, fears/hopes, and just enjoy each other’s company and general merriment. It makes heading home to your loved ones even more special.

  187. My favorite holiday tradition will be new this year! Opening gifts with our almost 1 year old puppy and going for a family walk before starting all the house hopping to our families houses!

  188. I grew up making a traditional Swedish cookie with my grandma every year for Xmas. we didn’t make them any other time of the year but at the holiday! The recipe has been passed down. Every year for as long as I can remember we go to a family friend’s party and come home and sip hot chocolate by the fire in our PJs while my dad reads the Christmas story from the Bible. It’s stood the test of time and is always my favorite night of the year with just my siblings and my parents.

  191. Love this gift guide! Great ideas! I love with young kids that we are starting new traditions and get to do all the fun holiday things but my favorite one is simple… decorating the Christmas tree and remembering all the ornaments we have collected together over the years – we try to remember to get one on every trip and vacation of all the places we’ve traveled!

  192. My favorite holiday tradition (for Christmas!) is making homemade sugar cookies with my family. We use my great-grandmother’s original recipe and make different Christmas cutout cookie shapes. Would absolutely LOVE to win this platter to display our best cookies on Christmas Day!

  193. One of our favorite holiday traditions includes staying up super late on Christmas Eve and opening our family presents then. After the hectic-ness of dinner, there is no timeline and it is perfect. The platter would be perfect a perfect addition to a Christmas feast.

  194. In-laws done! Thanks, Liz!! Would love this Vietri platter as part of our family traditions going forward! I love all of our traditions from putting up the decor, daily advent calendar, dancing to Xmas tunes, family meals, cookie baking, lots of cuddles, and cheesy holiday movies

    Thanks for this great list!!

  202. My favorite holiday tradition is that my family cooks 7 fish dishes on Christmas Eve. It’s an Italian tradition. My mom hosts my dad’s side of the family and it is the best day of the year. My grandma used to host until she became too sick with ovarian cancer and then passed away. Once my mom started hosting, my sister and I became more involved in helping her plan and cook. Each year we pick 1 recipe to rotate out and 1 new recipe to try! She would love this platter to serve one of her 7 fishes!!

  203. We head to the Christmas tree farm the day after Thanksgiving to cut down our family Christmas tree. When we get home we make a fresh cut on the tree to keep as a nostalgic memory. Then we put Christmas vacation on and get decorating! Wine and Whiskey are always welcome!

  204. The season kicks off with watching Die Hard (we’ve already watched it this year). Closer to Christmas, my family goes to our local symphony’s holiday show and has dinner after. We do a secret santa and it’s always such a fun day. I love everything about this time of year.

  205. Every year with my family, we each get to open one gift on Christmas Eve… but someone else picks which one for you! It’s a fun surprise we look forward to every time 🙂

  206. Making homemade cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning and going on a long family walk in the woods after opening presents.

  207. My favorite tradition is one we picked up from when my family lived in Germany. All my siblings and I have our own Dutch wooden shoes, and on December 6th we celebrate St. Nicholas Day! We would wake up in the mornings and St. Nicholas would have left us gold chocolate coins in our wooden shoes. I’ve started this tradition with my son and I love how happy he is when he sees them!

  211. Making Christmas cookies with kids (crazy bc they are little), matching funny family pjs. As a kid, we (kids) religiously played a fiesty game of monopoly Christmas morning with my Dad after he made us all breakfast. Treasure that memory the most.

  212. It’s so hard to answer this because I immediately go to my childhood memories of traditions, but now I have two little girls and we’re trying to make our own traditions! But I’d say the past few years I have loved putting cookies and milk out for Santa on Christmas Eve. It’s so simple but special, it was one of my absolute favorite things as a kid and now doing it with my daughter is even more special! Ok I’m done talking now 🤪.

  216. One of my favorite (and rather new) small holiday tradition is taking a day with my sister and enjoying all the holiday things the city has to offer! Our mom (who passed away 2 years ago) loved Christmas and it’s an awesome way to feel more connected to her. 💗

  217. Love this guide! Hands down nothing is more special to me than decorating the Christmas tree. Pulling the ornaments out of the attic and reminiscing about family vacations and stages of life from where the ornaments were sourced makes me all warm and fuzzy.

  218. It’s so hard to choose! If I had to narrow, I’d say one of my favorite holiday traditions is our annual family barefoot snow race. This was started by my great aunt and has continued on. No matter the weather, we take our socks and shoes off and race around my grandparents house- all of us, my siblings, aunts, uncles, parents and cousins! Sometimes there’s just a sprinkle of snow.. other times it’s 3 feet high! It’s such a random but fun tradition!

  219. Always such great ideas, Liz! My favorite holiday tradition is watching The Polar Express and drinking hot chocolate out of our Polar Express mugs 🙂

Oh, and mimosas on Christmas morning 🙂

  223. I love watching love actually on the 24th in the morning and then in the evening dressing up and meeting with my family (grandmother, godparents, aunt, uncle, cousins, mom, dad, sister etc) to eat, sing christmas carols and having a good meal together 😍 after dinner we unwrap the presents (unlike the US I guess!) 🥰🎁

  224. 🎄I’m Italian so there are so many traditions but Christmas Eve of course is huge 🇮🇹 with feast of the seven fishes😋🐙🦑🦐🦞🦀🐟🐡 & my mother in law soaking the fish in the bathtub for a week is hilarious😉☺️ & then off to Midnight Mass 🙏🏻💒🎄

  225. I love watching hallmark Christmas movies with all the girls in my family as we prepare thanksgiving dinner together. So much fun and so many good memories.

  226. My favorite tradition is Christmas Eve – after church and dinner with family we would come home to open 3 gifts: pajamas to wear that night, a book, and a special Christmas decoration, while watching It’s a Wonderful Life ❤️.

Each of us had one ‘theme’ for the decoration our whole lives. I always got an Angel, my brother always got a nutcracker and my sister always got a Santa Claus. Now as an adult, I get to decorate my home with those angels and I’ve started my daughter with Santa Claus!

  227. We’ve only been married for 2 years so our “traditions” are in their infancy 😊. One thing my cousins have started is a get together Christmas night full of leftover cookies, frozen pizzas, and copious amounts of alcohol that evolve into a family tournament of flip cup 😂🤦🏽‍♀️. Not a lot to do in the U.P. But we make the most of it lol

  228. What a great gift guide!! I think in-laws are always the hardest to buy for and you’ve just given me lots of great ideas! Thanks Liz! My favorite holiday tradition is breakfast with mimosas at my mom’s. She always makes quiche and has a Moravian sugar loaf, so good!

  230. My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the Christmas tree! I am doing that with my little ones this week and can’t wait to see them help and ask about the ornaments. Most of the ornaments have a sentimental reason for being on our tree. ❤️❤️❤️.

  231. My favorite tradition is making Christmas cookies. I made them with my mom when I was little and now I can include my daughter as well.

  232. My favorite holiday tradition is going to Ohio to visit all my family and friends. We all get together and it is so special!

  233. My favorite Holiday tradition growing up was when we visited my Grandma and all my cousins, aunts and uncles picked a number out of a bowl and that was your part when we sang the 12 days of Christmas! It’s so special to me because my Grandma recently passed away and she was the glue to the family.. I hope to share this fun little tradition with my kids one day. <3

  234. My favorite holiday tradition is reading ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. My siblings and I are all in our late twenties and we still read it out loud together every year before everyone goes off to bed. It’s a little silly now but immediately makes me giddy with excitement. I just can not wait to continue the tradition once we have little ones in the family again.

  235. That platter is beautiful, I’m buying it immediately for my parents. 🙂 I want the whole set.
Favorite tradition is cutting down our own Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Living in New England we never know what type of weather we are going to get, but it just starts the holidays off in such a special way!

  236. My favorite tradition is decorating our tree with my 3 kids. It is a night of just us, music, hot chocolate and discussing every special ornament every year. Can’t wait!❤️🎄 FYI Liz, we have special glassware for holidays too and I love getting it out each year. This beautiful platter would be an amazing addition.

  237. We clip our holiday cards together every year and I love getting them all out each year and seeing the cards from years past!

  238. Your gift guides are so unique and thorough, Liz! I’ve loved going through them. My favorite holiday tradition is wrapping up a huge Thanksgiving meal with my family, and us all bundling up and piling into our car(s) to head to the local Christmas light show at our community park! It is MASSIVE, interactive, and such a magical sight! We usually blast Christmas music while we make a couple laps, and then stop for s’mores afterwords. I can’t imagine a year where we don’t experience this tradition, it’s just too good! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season! 🙂

  239. My favorite holiday tradition is still busting out the old camcorder and recording every Christmas morning!

  240. Favorite holiday tradition: we host a Christmas Tree party the weekend after Thanksgiving at my parent’s blue ridge parkway cabin. We have brunch and cocktails and then go to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our trees. Each year there is another baby added to the mix and it is chaotic and fun and we have new memories each year. It’s the best! This Vietri platter would be the perfect addition to our spread!!

  241. My absolute favorite family tradition is baking the scratch-made pies that my mom and her mother made before me! My mom passed away a few years ago, and continuing this tradition in her footsteps always makes me feel so close to her. ❤️❤️

  248. My favorite holiday tradition is pulling out all the old school 90’s Christmas music like Amy Grant and blasting it while we all go back to my parents house to decorate their tree!

  249. My favorite tradition is that every Christmas my dad makes a scavenger hunt for our last present. My sister and I hide in the bathroom while he hides clues throughout the house. Then we get the fist clue and it leads us to the next one and so on. It’s so fun! He still does it even though we are adults now.

  250. My family is crazy for stocking stuffers – we have managed to make stockings into a major Christmas event over the years and we actually stuff ladies’ pantyhose. It’s so fun to find the perfect little item for everyone’s stockings and then take turns opening/watch everyone else enjoy their stockings. It’s more about the process than the gifts and I’ve always loved this tradition.

  251. Every year for the Holidays, my family and I would go into New York to see the tree, all of the beautiful Christmas shop windows, and then warm up at the Pig and Whistle (our fave pub) with dinner and drinks! My mom and I recently moved to Chicagoland, so we can’t follow this tradition anymore. Miss it so much, but looking forward to creating new traditions in our new great city!

  252. The VIETRI pieces are beautiful! My favorite holiday tradition was baking cookies with my mother and grandmother and now my daughter (which would look beautiful displayed on that pretty platter!).

  253. I love holiday traditions! I think my most favorite is decorating my parents house with the whole family the day after Thanksgiving. Cozy clothes, Christmas music blaring, fire burning. A close second is hand-making my Nonie’s tortellacci – an Italian tradition.

  254. Making Christmas Eve dinner with my family, and then enjoying a drink by our Christmas tree, watching home videos from when my sisters and I were young! So many laughs and good memories!

  255. Omg, love this platter. We registered for some of their pieces and they are the best. As a newlywed, we saved so many champagne corks from our engagement and first-year married (our first anniversary is this coming weekend!). We wrote on the corks what we were celebrating and bought hooks so we can hang them on our Christmas tree. Such a fun way to display some of the happiest memories.

  256. My family every year does a gingerbread house contest. We all come home and spend 4-5 hours making a house. Whenever my parents have their friends over, they all vote for their favorite. winner gets a prize!

  257. Loveeeee these ideas! It’s been so much fun following a fellow Chicago girl ♥️ Literally getting all the ideas from you!

  258. My favorite Christmas tradition is making up in our matching pajamas that we were gifted the night before while opening gifts
