Happy October 1! How do we feel about the new month? With fall officially in full swing, I am leaning all the way into the season: taking advantage of darker nights to enjoy a glass of red wine in front of the fireplace, researching new cozy recipes to try, and sprucing up some corners around our home with some festive decor. Of course, the boys are counting down the days until they get to go trick-or-treating on Halloween.
Since this time of year is full of so many fun activities that just make me happy, I wanted to create an October calendar that could serve as a kind of “bucket list” for checking off some of my favorite fall activities. I printed this out, poster-size, to hang up in our kitchen and I plan to use it as the basis for building out our schedule this month. Check out some of the inspiration for the calendar below and let me know if you end up doing any of these with your own family!
To set the mood: listen to our Hello Adams Family Fall Playlist, full of cozy, inspiring, and upbeat tunes that are just right for the season.
Plan ahead: schedule family photos β see my strategy for taking family photos here.
Spend time in the kitchen: make my skinny chicken pot pie recipe, my Gogo’s famous Creamy Apple Pie, or cook up a batch of homemade soup on Sunday.
As an extra treat: try these pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies, homemade Chex Mix, or this holiday candy popcorn (just swap in your favorite candy!).
Weekend plans: visit a pumpkin patch or your local apple orchard (this was such a fun day) .
I love the idea of all of us celebrating the season in these + our own unique ways! If you want to print out a copy of the calendar for your own home, here is a link to the PDF.
