It’s the first official day of fall! A season that always makes me feel refreshed, renewed and invigorated. During a year that has felt very much the opposite, I’m grateful for a sense of normalcy and routine. It’s amazing what a cooler breeze and change in seasons can do for your mindset.
Last year I put together a big fall to-do list and although this list still rings true on some levels, I’m using this change in seasons as an opportunity to embrace the changes of this entire year. Rest, enjoy, reset and be. Fewer plans on the calendar and a quieter routine means opportunity to actually enjoy what I love about this time of year so much! Windows open, more baking, slower mornings, trying new recipes, getting outside with the kids, and more family movie nights. Letting go of expectations to do everything and be everywhere and feel the most productive everyday. If I’ve learned anything this year it’s that my to-do list doesn’t need to be filled with stuff, instead it can be filled with moments that I enjoy. There is comfort in knowing that all of us has slowed down as if we needed reassurance that it is okay to do so.
One thing I’m grateful for this season is the excitement to share more of what inspires me! I feel like 2020 has been one big rut and I’m finally crawling out of it. More outfits, more recipes, more family moments and just more moments of real life. I feel like I’m kind of ignoring the fact that we have a new baby arriving just after the holidays so we are trying to embrace a slower pace!
I love a good sweater dress for fall! I found this tunic style sweater dress with intentions to wear it over jeans with the bump. Dave told me to ditch the jeans hence why it’s a liiiiittle short with my 6 month baby belly. It’s sold out in a lot of colors but I’m sure will be restocked. I found some similar options here, here and here. I also bought this beautiful sweater dress in black that I’m excited to wear. If you’re on the hunt for some fun leopard sneakers for fall, I found some GG alternatives here, here and here!
