We are big book readers in our house and some of our most favorites to read revolve around Christmas! I personally love when my kids are gifted books, no matter the time of year. It’s so special to go through their little libraries and see how many sweet messages sit inside their books. We read a Christmas book every night during the month of December and I wanted to share some of our favorites in case you need some book ideas for the kids in your life. I’m not going to detail every book because I feel like there are so many classics like this, this and this but here are a few that are noteworthy:

The Sweet Smell of Christmas is cute story about a little bear getting excited for Christmas. Throughout the book, there are scratch and sniff stickers to align with cutting down their Christmas tree, baking apple pie, hanging candy canes on the tree and more. It really is the sweet smells of Christmas and the book I have from my childhood still smells wonderful! I did buy a new version for my kids and Charlie makes me read this book all year round.

The Jolly Christmas Postman, this book has a soft spot in my heart! My brother is 8 years younger than me and when I was in high school I used to read this to him around the holidays. He loved it so much and it is so interactive and fun for kids! It’s the story about a postman who delivers the sweetest mail to our favorite fairy tale characters. You can actually pull the letters out of little envelopes and read them. It’s just a really cute story and book as a whole – Charlie LOVES it.

Thankful is a great book for this time of year and serves as a reminder of all of the things we should be thankful for around us! Truly a great book to read throughout the year.

Ok I love Pick a Pine Tree – any other parents out there try to manipulate your kids book choices at night? ha! – it’s the cutest story about the traditions around decorating your Christmas tree! It just makes you feel warm and fuzzy and the illustrations are sweet.

Little Blue Truck’s Christmas and Construction Site on Christmas Night are no brainers – two of Charlie and Jack’s favorites!

Eloise at Christmastime and Madeline’s Christmas are two of my childhood favorites!

If you’re looking for a universal fan favorite book that would be a lovely gift for kids of any age – Steam Train, Dream Train is so beautifully written. We love this book so much and it’s so easy to read as a parent.

I’ll be sure to highlight a few of our favorites on my Instagram stories today! But like I said, if you have nieces and nephews, neighbor kids, new moms or kids of your own – we love these books! I am even gifting a few of these to my nephews with a sweet little note in the front cover.

I’m trying to be better about adding products to my Amazon Shop where you can find book suggestions for kids, gift ideas, random home items we love and more. You can see it here!
