Something we love about living in Chicago is the seasons. Although the cold ones can be long we never miss a moment to bundle up the kids to get outdoors. It’s something you learn to love growing up in the Midwest and it sort of gives you thicker skin when it comes to braving the elements.

Before we left for Charleston, we spent a Saturday morning at one of our favorite forest preserves near our house. We love taking our kids for walks through the woods, collecting sticks and leaves and looking for animals. My kids thrive on fresh air so no matter the weather it’s always on the to do list for the day! Thankfully, Backcountry helps us feel more prepared.
