When I shared my little air fryer egg hack on Instagram last week I received so many questions on how to make it! I love avocado toast because you can really jazz it up however you please. I love it with a fried egg, I love it mashed up with cumin on top and even cottage cheese layered on top of the bread. It’s a fun little experiment you should try in your own kitchen. But for now, this is a no-fail, simple recipe for a classic avocado toast.
So for the air fryer eggs – this is also something you should experiment with because a 1 minute difference can mean you have a soft boiled egg or a hard boiled egg. Set your air fryer to 275F and the timer for 15 mins. Put the basket in, empty, so it heats through. Then add your eggs and cook in the air fryer for 9-12 mins. Depending on your preference, 9 is going to be soft (and sometimes the whites aren’t totally set) and 12 will be closer to what you see in these images. SLIGHTLY soft (which you can see in my IG REEL here! I left them in one minute too long). I think the sweet spot is 10. The first time I ever made eggs in the air fryer, I made 4 and took one out every minute to see where they landed. You’ll want to let your eggs cool slightly so they are easier to peel.
Avocado Toast with an Air Fryer Egg
Ingredients:
Fresh sourdough round
1 avocado, thinly sliced
1 radish, thinly sliced
1 bunch of cilantro
2 lemon wedges
1 egg, cooked to your liking
Everything but the bagel seasoning
Red pepper flakes
A pinch of salt
Your favorite hot sauce!
Cut your sourdough and toast. Add your sliced avocado, squeeze of fresh lemon juice, everything but the bagel seasoning and red pepper flakes. Add your egg on top, however you prefer it! Top with thinly sliced radishes and fresh cilantro and your favorite hot sauce! I used Red Clay’s Carolina Hot Sauce (LIZ25 gets you a discount!). Enjoy!
