Hi friends! I am SO excited to kick of Wellness Month starting tomorrow! I’ll be sharing more details on everything you can expect tomorrow but I wanted to highlight the three challenges we will be doing this month and what we are going to focus on for the week ahead.
I think wellness means something different to everyone and my focus for these challenges was to really make it fun for all of us to do together. My goal at the end of this month is to be a little more mindful, to learn something new, to focus on ourselves and be successful! All of these challenges are super attainable and you can make of them whatever you want! Here’s what we have on the calendar:
WEEKLY MEAL PLAN CHALLENGE:
4 healthy meals a week!
Meal planning is hard for me and one of my focuses this month is to make 4 home cooked, healthy meals a week for my family. They don’t necessarily have to be Monday-Thursday, make them whenever you’d like! We are starting with 4 recipes from my blog because not only are they easy but you can easily modify for kids and make extras for lunch bowls/salads! The recipes are:
- cauliflower gnocchi with roasted veggies and pesto *doing a different recipe than what is linked but this will help you cook the gnocchi!
- turkey burgers
- crockpot chicken gyros (I’m going to do a salad)
- crispy chicken tenders + kale salad
*double the recipe for turkey burgers and chicken gyros for extra protein for lunches during the week!
Here is your shopping list! *I am going to Trader Joe’s tomorrow and I’ll take you with me!
I want to note a few items that I always have on hand to take these leftovers to a bowl, salad, wrap or to whip up a quick dressing. Here is a list of my must have items:
- eggs
- olive oil
- avocado oil
- dijon mustard
- apple cider vinegar
- lemons/limes
- honey
- peanut butter
- frozen cauliflower rice
- frozen veggies
- TJ’s Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
So with this meal challenge, do what you can! For example I have to travel a couple of times during the week this month so I’ll probably make a couple of these meals on the weekend. Do what you can!
30 DAY CBD CHALLENGE
You guys know how much CBD has helped me with sleep issues, stress, anxiousness, restless legs, focus and just general stillness. 5 Days of Exercise Weekly Challenge
Exercise is a big part of my day so I wanted to encourage you guys to get your heart pumping this month! I know that this challenge will look different for everyone depending on your gym, weather, etc. but I think that encouraging 30 minutes of exercise a day is doable! Utilize these strength workouts, invest in some weights (or these are great for arm workouts, too!) or resistance bands (these and these are my favorite), check out my IG stories or get outside! Even on the days that I don’t exercise I always aim to get in 10,000 steps by the end of the day (which I track using my Apple Watch). *you can refer to this post about my Apple Watch if you have questions about tracking!
Ultimately I just want to hold each other accountable, focus on ourselves during the week and help motivate each other to do something good for us and our families. Carolyn made these weekly wellness plan documents which you can download here and fill out each week! Even if you don’t complete every challenge, at least you can see everything you did accomplish for the week! It’s a great way to show progress and feel good about all of your successes!
