Looking to invest in a great pair of black pumps that are comfortable. Prefer a pointed toe, but any options are good! Any brands you love?
Manolo Blahnik black suede pointy pumps hands down. I spent years spending $100-$150 on stupid black pumps that either killed my feed or were completely shot after a year until I finally purchased these two summers ago. Gamechanger. Sam Edelman pointy toe pumps are my budget friendly version!!
My beloved camel colored every-day wrap coat just ripped right through the armpit. Admittedly it wasn’t the best quality, but I loved it and wore it every day to work and even on the weekends. I’m hoping you can suggest a new version of a camel coat, or any coat really, that can be dressed up or down and good for every day. I’m on a budget!
The J.Crew Factory Vail Parka is a steal at $116 and comes in a few pretty colors!
We are going to Florida in December and I’ll be 6 weeks postpartum with our 2nd baby! Can you share some cute one-piece suits that don’t look like total “mom suits” around the $150 price range?
Ruched swimsuits are going to be your best friend! I lived in this style from J.Crew whenever necessary the first year I had Charlie + this summer after Jack! I also love this Albion Fit one piece.
I know you recently traveled with the kids to Mexico. I’m interested in what snacks and entertainment you brought along for Jack. Did he sit in your laps? Headed to Palm Springs in January with my 12-month-old and already cringing at the 4 1/2 hour flight. He’s not used to sleeping on me anymore so will see if I can get him down for a nap on the plane. Any tips are welcome!!
Jack is hard to entertain at this age because all he wants to do is move. I honestly didn’t bring much for him because he either finds interest in singing songs and clapping hands or he wants to throw his toys on the ground. An hour into each flight I knew Jack was tired so I put him into our carrier (Ergo 360), had him face me and put his blanket over his head to make it darker/block out distractions and he passed out! Honestly you have to go into a flight with the mindset that it is going to fricking suck – but then it won’t be that bad!
I’ve had the same winter coat for years—it’s basically a sleeping bag with a zipper. It’s time for a change! I’ve had my eye on a Canada Goose for a while, but I’m not sure I’m ready to make the investment. Have you seen any other really warm but stylish and flattering down coats?
A few favorite winter coats are this velvet trim puffer coat, this stretch quilted coat, this down puffer jacket and the J.Crew wintress puffer coat.
I’m a mom of 2 little ones and over carrying a diaper bag! Any suggestions for a nice leather backpack that isn’t uber expensive but versatile enough that it can take me from days with my kiddos to a date night out (assuming I don’t have the time or energy to move all my stuff from one bag to the next!)? Thanks so much!
It’s not leather but buy this MZ Wallace backpack right now! It’s lightweight, water resistant and holds all of your things! The perfect diaper bag transition.
I’ve been seeing velvet tanks/camis all over this season (J. Crew, Madewell, Nordstrom, etc). I think they are so pretty and would love to incorporate them into my (pretty classic) wardrobe (casual OR more dressed up for holiday parties) but am unsure how to do so. What would you layer over them and/or pair them with to make a complete outfit?
So many ways! My favorite would probably be a cozy cardigan – I love this, this (so fun for the holidays), this and this. You could also pair with a pretty drapey blazer or a dreamy sweater coat! My velvet bodysuit is a great option too if you’re looking for something a little warmer (seen here).
Are you starting any new holiday traditions with your kids this year?
We are going to do Elf on the Shelf! Mainly because I like the idea of someone watching over Charlie to make sure he is good. Ha! We are also going to adopt a family for Christmas this year- one of my favorite traditions growing up.
I’m loving the nordic lace up boot look for winter but they are too overwhelming for me. Any styles that seem more feminine?
