4th of July Flag Cookie Cake

The EASIEST 4th of July flag cake I should say! Your family and friends will never know that the majority of these ingredients are store bought because this cake is SO FREAKING GOOD. It is a combo of strawberry shortcake mixed with the flavor of banana pudding. All of my favorite summer dessert flavors. The trick is freezing it for 1-2 hours and then refrigerating it until you are ready to serve. But it is also just as good as soon as complete, I just prefer for it to be on the cooler side and the frosting to be nice and refreshing.

The combination of the cool whip and frosting creates an almost marshmallow like frosting that gets better once refrigerated. It creates this whipped, light, marshmallow fluff that is SO DELICIOUS. Instructions below!

4th of July Flag Cookie Cake

Ingredients:
1 roll of pre-made sugar cookie dough
Fresh strawberries, greens removed and sliced in half
Fresh blueberries
2 bananas, sliced
1 container of cool whip
1 container of butter cream frosting

In a casserole dish, spread out sugar cookie dough evenly. Bake according to the instructions on the container then you will probably have to bake for an additional 8 minutes or so. Just keep an eye on it so not to burn! Remove from oven and let cool completely. Slice your fruit and set aside. In a bowl mix the cool whip and container of butter cream.

To assemble cake, apply a light layer of the frosting on top of the cookie, top with bananas. Then add a thick layer of the frosting and create your flag on top! Freeze for 1-2 hours and then refrigerate until serving. Honestly, you’d be find just refrigerating until you are ready to serve. I think this cake is delicious served cool! ENJOY!
