When I first became a mom, one of the things I was most looking forward to was being able to recreate some of my favorite Christmas memories from when I was growing up. We all remember the magical feeling of waking up extra early on Christmas morning, forcing yourself to stay in bed so you don’t surprise Santa, and then slowly creeping downstairs to see what there was for you under the tree. It’s been so much fun to create our own special Adams family memories over the past several years, and I know that our traditions will only continue to get better as we become a family of five!
I’m already starting to order a few “Santa” presents for Charlie and Jack, and high on the list are a few new toys! We like to mix up screen and tablet time with more active play (there’s a time and a place for everything!), so I’ve been on the hunt for some interactive toys and activities that will suit our boys’ busy bodies and minds. Walmart is without a doubt the easiest place to shop for toys, with a range of options for every age range and personality. Here are a few of the toys on my list this season!
We are big LEGO fans in our house and I love watching Charlie and Jack get creative with their blocks. I know that Jack will be so excited about these LEGO Duplo Creative Animals, and I think that this LEGO City Advent Calendar would be a fun activity for Charlie as we countdown to Christmas!
Sometimes the classics are best and these Lincoln Logs and Lite Brite take me right back to my childhood Christmases. Honestly, I think I’ll be just as eager as the boys to play with these!
Even in the colder months, we live on our driveway and sidewalk — whether Charlie is scootering around or Dave is pulling Jack in the wagon while on a walk with Webster. If your kids are as active as ours, a new cruiser bike (this one is under $150!) and a matching helmet would be the most incredible gift!
Charlie absolutely loves his play kitchen and one of our favorite activities to do together is to have him make and serve me “dinner.” Maybe this will inspire him when he’s old enough to actually cook, haha! I think a play kitchen would be a gift that keeps on giving for years to come, and this beautiful version is under $100. You could even add a play camping kit for your future explorer!
No matter your price range or what’s on your list, Walmart is the place to go! I already ordered a few of these items for the boys, and I have a feeling that a few more things might sneak into my shopping cart over the next month!
