My Journey Into Cleaner Beauty

Shop the post: No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil, Overnight Resurfacing Peel, Cleansing Balm, Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion ℅ Beautycounter

Since finding out I was pregnant with Charlie and becoming a mom over the past three years, I’ve slowly made made changes in my lifestyle that are healthier for myself and my family. One of those changes is being conscious about the products I put on and into my body. Beautycounter has been a leader in cleaner, safer beauty but I had never tried their products until recently! I was so excited to get my hands on a few of their skincare staples (you all know I love some good skincare!) and I was not disappointed.

Vitamin C is one of my favorite products to put on my skin so I was super excited to try their No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil. Clearly it’s an industry favorite and I have to say this may be a new favorite in my routine. It is so nourishing and smells like you’re squeezing a fresh orange on your skin (I love when you can smell the Vitamin C!). My skin truly looked brighter after 30 minutes. A must have for keeping your skin glowy and youthful.

The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is AMAZING. When you can feel a product working almost instantly, you know it’s a good one! I’ve used this every night for the past week and I keep telling Dave that my skin feels “so smooth!” when I wake up. This products clears away dull surface cells while nourishing and improving your skin’s texture, minimizing pores and the appearance of fine lines and dark spots. All while you’re asleep! With over 1400 5 star reviews, this product should probably make its way into your beauty bag.

If your skin lacks hydration, especially during these winter months then the Cleansing Balm and the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion. The Cleansing Balm is so luxurious and does double duty with removing makeup, cleansing your skin and packing it with moisture. The Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion is a genius product and something that I’ve never seen from a skincare product before! Not only does it provide up to 24 hours of moisture but it is formulated to adjust hydration levels throughout the day to adapt to your skin’s needs.

My experience trying Beautycounter was a little eye opening to be honest! I have so many similar products that I use and love but the fact that these are cleaner and safer for my skin and body makes them that much better. Also wanted to note that today Beautycounter is launching a collection for men! Counterman! I always get questions about the products Dave uses or helping your husband create a skincare regimen and this would be a great place to start.

So what are your favorite Beautycounter products? I need to try them all!

A big thank you to Beautycounter for partnering on this post.

  2. I love BeautyCounter. My favorite product is the No. 3 Charcoal Mask and the cleansing balm. I literally just sit and watch the mask harden to see my pores!

  4. Yes Liz!! I’m a consultant, so glad you are loving the products and making a clean swap!! ❤️❤️❤️

  5. I am a consultant and love reading great feedback from ladies like you! I love all the products you shared and I hope you and Dave try more of the lines and enjoy them! Safe products for all 😉

  6. Do you use the brightening facial oil in the morning and the resurfacing facial peel at night? I’m always a little unsure about layering products in the right order! Thanks!

    1. Hi there! I’ve been using the facial oil and resurfacing peel for a while and use both at night. With the peel, it is recommended that you follow up with a moisturizer so if your skin tends to be quite dry or lacking the brightness you desire, layer the facial oil on after the peel (let the peel dry, 5 minutes or so). The facial oil can be used in the AM as well depending on your level of moisture. I like to put it on top of my Countermatch Adaptive Lotion.
      Hope that helps!

  7. Glad you’re loving Beautycounter. One of my must-haves is the Dew Skin because it has SPF in it and is very lightly tinted for a minimal ‘put-together’ look.

  8. I love that you are switching to safer (also a consultant here!). You started with my absolute faves, but I’d also recommend the charcoal bar, the body wash and the body butter. It’s magical in the winter. Oh- and the makeup remover wipes for those extra lazy days (or after the gym). Super easy and they even lather. If you want to try makeup, their lip glosses are not sticky and the Dew Skin is very light and has SPF.

  9. Liz, it thrills me to no end to see you promoting BeautyCounter! As a consultant, I am always trying to let my customers and followers know that our products are not just safe, but they are AMAZING! Our lines are so carefully curated, and I am so happy to be reading your post about how these products work for you. Thank you for promoting safer beauty and a brand that embodies so much good!

  10. I love their citrus 🍊 mimosa body wash! It produces the most luxurious creamy froth! lol. It smells delish and I didn’t need to use any body moisturizer afterward.
