The struggle is real when it comes to finishing my morning coffee. I always get distracted and I come back hours later only to find a cold cup of coffee that I never got to enjoy. Mom life at its best! For that reason I’ve come up with the most delicious smoothie that provides a protein packed breakfast + a morning caffeine boost. I usually skip my breakfast (so bad, trying to be better) so I love that this energy smoothie ensures I get a breakfast in while enjoying what tastes like a milkshake. It’s also the perfect excuse not to pour my cold coffee down the drain.
Morning Boost Energy Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup(ish) almond milk
spoonful of almond butter
1 banana
a few dashes of cinnamon
leftover coffee (usually about 1 cup)
1 scoop milk chocolate protein powder (we use this)
4-5 ice cubes
Blend together and enjoy!
I’ve also made this smoothie as a post workout boost or mid-afternoon snack. You can omit the coffee and it is a just as yummy protein smoothie. Perfect for after workouts or to jump start your metabolism.
