I don’t know about you but in the summer heat less is more when it comes to my beauty routine. I hate walking out the door and feeling like all of my products are melting off of my face so when the weather is warm I count on simple products to create a natural look throughout the day and I rely on my heavy hitters to do the dirty work while I sleep.
For Day: natural, sun-kissed, easy and effortless.
1.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer – After I wash my face in the morning, this is the first product in my makeup routine. It acts as a moisturizer, foundation, SPF, and manages to cover any flaws or dark circles without feeling heavy. It is sheer enough to let a few freckles shine through and holds onto my blush really well.
2.
NARS Blush in Torrid – I’m not big on bronzer, especially in the summer when I can let my skin be a little sun-kissed from time to time. This blush is the perfect color for getting that natural rosy cheek bone without applying layers and layers of product for contouring. I was introduced to this color by a makeup artist who claimed it was her favorite for all skin types – I have to agree!
4.
Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara – This came highly recommended by so many people that I couldn’t help but give it a try and now I am hooked. I don’t know what it is about this mascara but it lengthens, thickens, widens, brightens – it basically does everything you want it to and more. My eyelashes are super straight and an eyelash curler has never really worked for me but this mascara curls them up and keeps them in place!
5.
Bobbi Brown Bobbi’s Party Fragrance – I have been a big fan of BB’s
Beach Body Oil for awhile so when I read that her
Bobbi’s Party fragrance was “like your favorite cocktail dress, bound to put you in a festive mood {even when you’re in a tshirt and jeans}. Classic and feminine, the scent features a rich bouquet of violet leaves, rose petals, and sandalwood,” I couldn’t resist. It is good.
For Night: all about skincare!
6.
Clarisonic Mia Cleansing Brush – One of my favorite parts of the day is when I get to take off all of my makeup with my
Clarisonic and my
Hydro Cleanser. I don’t know how I ever thought my skin was clean before this baby came along, so necessary for removing a long day of work and wear!
7.
Nerium AD – I have to thank
Sally + Molly for
introducing me to this magical serum. I think they sold me when they mentioned “
Botox in a bottle.” Yep. Lately I’ve been feeling like there is no better time than now to prepare my skin for what’s to come and like I said before, if there is a product that can work wonders on my skin while I’m asleep then I am all for it. This stuff is like a sleeping mask, it immediately feels like it is working to make my skin better and truthfully I could see results after only a few days. The product is thick {which I like, I need it to work not just sit on my skin!} and when you wake up your skin feels completely moisturized, firm, fresh, and full of energy. Worth every penny if you ask me.
8.
NeuLash – Another magical bottle. Here is what you should know about me – I have a love/hate relationship with mascara. If I was stranded on an island with only one piece of makeup it would be mascara – it makes such a difference and completely wakes up your face. BUT, removing mascara is my nightmare. I hate it. It is never completely off and I hate feeling like me eyelashes are crusted together. The worst. So, my remedy is getting my eyelashes dyed and enhancing those puppies with
NeuLash. It is like watering plants –
NeuLash helps them grow a little longer and fuller which in turn helps to minimize the amount of mascara necessary to achieve that eye-opening look! Think
Latisse without the prescription.
9.
Aquaphor – This is my over-the-counter saving grace. The majority of the time I use this little wonder on my lips because it is the quickest way to heal up cracks and helps to make sure my lipstick goes on smooth and even. I keep a bottle on my nightstand, in my bag, in my car, at my desk, in a random kitchen drawer and a few are stored under the sink in my bathroom. If I have a pimple that I picked and is scabbing, I dab a little of this juice on there and when I wake up she is healed. This stuff is amazing.
That’s that. Simple but effective. Any magical products I should know about?
