Our Spring Break at The Somerset in Turks & Caicos

If you’ve followed me for a while you know that this was not our first time in Turks & Caicos! We have stayed at The Somerset on Grace Bay four times now and there are so many reasons why we keep coming back. We have even spent years in between where we try other destinations. Ultimately there is no place like somewhere familiar, especially when you have young kids. At the stage of life we are in right now, it’s really important for us to plan a trip that is equally for us as it is our kids. The Somerset embodies the warmest, most beautiful welcome to paradise. Our spring break trip was just what we needed.

If I could mention one thing that stands out about The Somerset it would be the staff. Our first trip to The Somerset was 9 years ago and the staff hasn’t changed at all. There is something special about a familiar face. Who engage with your children, who are helpful and observe and are aware of your family’s needs (honestly sometimes before you’re even aware!). Ms. Sharon, who runs the kids club, came to work on her day off because she saw we were arriving. Charlie and Jack ran to her and they hugged like no time had passed. Colin and AJ, who set up the towels at the beach/pool every day know exactly where you want to sit, play soccer with your kids and keep a close eye in the moments that you can’t. Everyone who works at The Somerset always has a smile on their face!

I’m wearing an Alemais Dress, Rebecca de Ravenal Earrings and Monkees Beaded Necklace.

I’m wearing a lemlem caftan (size small), Chimi Sunglasses and Hat Attack Bag (old).

We stayed in a beautifully remodeled ocean front 3 bedroom villa which was the perfect home away from home. It is steps to the beach and pool but each space feels secluded in its own way. The Somerset never feels overly full. The kids club runs from 10-12 and 2-4 everyday with fun events for kids at night throughout the week. Giving parents just the right amount of town to decompress and enjoy the sunshine! We always rent a car because we love going out for dinners (Coco Bistro, Indigo, Bay Bistro, Mango Reef and Mr. Groupers being a few favorites!). Breakfast is complimentary everyday at the Somerset and we usually eat by the pool for lunch.

Grace Bay also has to be the most beautiful sandy beach! I told Charlie that it feels like McDonald’s soft serve ice cream to your feet, it’s literally like a marshmallow cloud of sand. If you’re looking for a resort experience, I can’t recommend The Somerset enough.

I am so excited because The Somerset gave me a code for you! Get 25% off of the rack rate all year round (some blackout dates apply) with code LIZA25.
