Another weekend spent in Michigan to soak up the fall colors! We rented a home outside of Saugatuck, Michigan with 5 of our closest friends and their kids. We all got tested for COVID earlier in the week to make sure everyone was healthy and safe before going! Dave is from the Detroit area and visiting the west side of the state is one of his favorite things to do. So many cute towns which you’ve seen me talk a lot about this year (here is a recap from our time in Glen Arbor). With not too much on the calendar we took advantage of rental homes nearby to soak up the transition from summer to fall! Here is the listing for the house we rented, perfect for multiple families, had a heated pool and hot tub (I think the pool is about to be turned off) was secluded and nestled in the woods making it a great escape for a fall weekend.
As the weather continues to cool down here (we woke up to 38 degree temps today!) I am determined to find fun activities to do outside. On Saturday we took all of the kids apple picking (we had 10 adults and 7 kids with us!) at Crane Orchards in Fennville, MI. It was so cute and the kids loved it!
I’m really living for all of the cliche fall things this year. Now that Charlie is old enough to appreciate it and 2020 is weird and we all need a little cliche. It’s so much fun to experience this change in seasons, the colors and the activities with our boys. So many things that brought me joy as a kid are just as exciting for them now, too.
I got so many questions about Dave’s quilted pullover and I found it on sale! It’s a great fall/winter layer – I think he has had this for two years and wears it all the time. Dave wears a medium. I brought my new Everlane quilted coat, wearing a small.
Now, what to make with all of our apples? Definitely my mom’s glazed apple cookies (a fall favorite!!), these yummy caramel apple slices or a classic apple pie!
