It’s crazy how quickly our kitchen can become a mess! Between prepping meals, plating meals, cleaning up meals and everything in between, we tend to accumulate a lot of dishes in our sink. I’ve come to realize that I love to avoid loading and unloading the dishwasher. The process always feels long and daunting (it’s my least favorite chore) but I recently discovered a little mom hack that totally saves time and energy in the kitchen!
First step, Finish Quantum dishwashing pods! These will quickly become your best friend when it comes to cleaning dishes. They contain ActivBlu technology that is designed to work without pre-rinsing, releasing stain lifters that blast away food residue and leaves your dishes shining. Meaning NO rinsing off your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher! Saving you a little time while also saving up to 20 gallons of water per load by avoiding the pre-rinse step. A win-win! You can read more about why I love Finish Quantum here.
Now on to my mom hack that makes unloading the dishwasher a breeze. Make sure you categorize your plates, cups and utensils within the dishwasher. This may seem tedious and doesn’t have to actually be done until you are ready to run the cycle (Dave doesn’t always listen to my mom hacks) but you will unload your dishwasher in a minute! I like to make sure everything is together so I can quickly grab a stack and put it into the cabinet without sorting once clean. It’s a game changer for productivity in the kitchen! The combination of no rinse, Finish Quantum pods and quick unloading makes the process so much more bearable.
Right now, Finish has committed to donating $1 for every #SkipTheRinse Pledge, with a minimum of $100k and up to $400k, in support of water conservation projects in the US through The Nature Conservancy. We have this blue ribbon tied around our faucet as a reminder to skip the rinse and instead discard extra food in the garbage and place the dishes directly into the dishwasher, knowing that Finish Quantum will make them sparkling clean. I’m really proud to help spread the word on this amazing initiative! If you’d like to join me in making a difference by skipping the rinse, pledges can be made at www.skip.finishdishwashing.com, from now until March 2021.
