Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

Fall and football season, does it get any better? Although I’m not a huge follower of football, I enjoy the social aspect of it and that brisk weekend feeling of a football Saturday! Maybe that is because I went to a Big Ten school and our fall revolved around football. Either way, I’m happy to watch it, happy to host friends and always happy to whip up some yummy snacks for the occasion. I recently got an air fryer from Walmart and you guys, game changer. I chose this one based on the amazing reviews and the fact that it was easy to clean (priorities!). Last weekend I tested a few recipes and one I was dying to try was buffalo cauliflower. We have a restaurant in our town that makes the best appetizer of buffalo cauliflower but it is fried and probably not the best for you. I thought it could easily be recreated in an air fryer and it was DELICIOUS. So excited to share the recipe with you today!

Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower

Ingredients:

  • 2 heads of cauliflower
  • favorite hot sauce (we love Cholula)
  • ranch dressing (good stuff or healthy stuff)
  • blue cheese crumbles
  • radishes/celery/sliced carrots to top!

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees (this should only take a few minutes, these things heat up fast!). Cut the cauliflower so you’re left with just the florets. Put the florets in a bowl and gently coat with olive oil spray (not a lot!) and a good dosing of hot sauce. You want to coat but it doesn’t need to be completely coated. The olive oil is to make sure that the cauliflower doesn’t dry out in the air fryer. Pour the coated cauliflower florets into the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes. You can keep checking on the cauliflower to reach your preferred “brownness” but it never gets as brown as it would in a fryer – just FYI. I found that about 12 minutes was perfect! Remove from fryer and put back into bowl. Coat with more hot sauce and pour onto serving platter. Top with a drizzle of ranch dressing, blue cheese crumbles and then whatever toppings of your choosing – celery, radishes, sliced carrots, cilantro – anything! Serve and watch it disappear.
*note: best if served along side a frosty beer in a cute cup to keep it cold!

The air fryer is so fun! I love a good fried food and I love that this gives that taste/feeling but without the oil. A healthy alternative! Right now my air fryer is $40 off with over 1000+ amazing reviews. I also made a “fried chicken” salad using it this weekend and it was delicious. Walmart has everything you need to enjoy football Saturdays and I hope this recipe makes its way into your home!
