My Strategy When It Comes to Shopping for Dave

Shop the post:
Barbour Quilted Coat, Billy Reid Henley, Paige Lenox Jeans, Vince Sneakers, Coach Bag

It seems to be a common problem we all deal with – what to get our significant others for the holidays? After 9 years together, I still struggle with this year after year with Dave. My biggest tip is to listen carefully throughout the year and take mental notes of what they mention they may want/need. I pride myself on gift giving so this holiday season I’ve really tried to think of items that I know Dave would sincerely love. Something he would never buy for himself but appreciate.

As we’ve gotten older we seem to settle with items we’ve had forever. They get the job done but may not be in the best shape. For example, Dave’s gym bag that he has most likely used since high school. I knew that a new gym bag would be an item he never knew he needed. I found this gorgeous leather Coach bag at Bloomingdales and thought it would be perfect! It’s also 25% off today thanks to their Friends & Family Sale with code FRIENDS! Dave wanted to get a head start on his new years resolutions so I decided to give him the bag a little early. It’s a great bag to take him from work to the gym. The leather is so beautiful and it has some gorgeous suede detailing. I know it is a bag that will get better with age and he will have forever.

Sometimes it’s as easy as noticing items in their closets that get a lot of use but need a little update. Dave would also love this Coach leather bag or this leather card case (which he desperately needs). His favorite Vince sneakers are 25% off with code FRIENDS and his Barbour coat is under $200 and a no-brainer gift idea. A few more gift ideas: these leather headphones, a cool bluetooth speaker or some stylish new sneakers.
