Fall is without a doubt my favorite season for many reasons. The weather cools down, the holidays are near, my babies are/will be born in the fall, Dave and I got married in the fall and fall clothes are the best.
I’ve said it before but living in the midwest means that 85% of my wardrobe is made up of cool weather favorites. When it is chilly(er) 8 months of the year it is only appropriate to invest in good quality items for fall/winter. This year I’ve taken advantage of a few new arrivals to get me through the early days of fall dressing. I swear a version of this outfit has been worn every year on the blog. Proof that these items are timeless and return season after season.
It may or may not be because I’m pregnant but I’ve been stalking new items for fall. Maybe in hopes of fitting into them one day? Ha. In the meantime, I’ll be living in this outfit and I think you should too. The ultimate transitional look that anyone can wear (and like I said, I wear again and again). When I think about fall, there are 6 items that I think every one should buy – a pair of step hem jeans, a leather jacket, a stripe tee (always), a cozy sweater, a statement bag and a pair of slides/loafers. Nordstrom’s new arrivals for women are filled with items that should be at the top of your list for fall.
Last year I finally splurged on a black leather jacket. After spending $100 on faux leather the past 5 years I decided it was time to spend $500 and get something that is a nice quality (and doesn’t squeak when you move). It’s not surprise that stripe tees are my jam. I love the boxy, oversize shape of this tee which is perfect for my bump. More stripe tee’s that I love here, here and here. Finally, my slides – so so so cute. They fit true to size and I do not think they fit wide despite some reviews. The bow is so much fun! Check out a few more new arrivals that I’m loving below:
