I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We spent five days at my family’s farm in Wisconsin. It snowed 8 inches on Friday so it truly was a winter wonderland. The best spot to hibernate for a few days. We went snowshoeing, sledding, sat by the fire, baked cookies, cut down our own tree, listened to old vinyl Christmas albums and did absolutely nothing. I actually tried to document our trip and will be putting together a little video to with you (once I find the time and learn what the heck I’m doing). More to come!
I mentioned briefly that I invested in a new pair of winter boots this season. I am flush with boots. When you live in the midwest it is important to be prepared since the weather is always changing. I have the Sorel Caribou boots, one step up with the Sorel Joan of Arctic boots (for lots of snow), classic bean boots, Hunter boots, cozy UGGs…the list goes on. This year, I wanted to fill a void in my closet – a style that was stylish, shorter but still lined to keep my toes warm. Sometimes it feels like winter boots can be so clunky. I wanted something sleek and stylish and these UGG boots fit the bill.
I lived in sweaters and plaid shirts this weekend. Two recent favorites being this cute Madewell pom pom sweater and my new Red Feather Flannel shirts (seriously so cute, and the elbow patches?!). To be honest I rarely get dressed when I’m up there – on Christmas eve and day we all stayed in our pajamas. It was bliss!
I always tend to feel a little blue once Christmas is over but luckily we leave for Charleston on Friday! We will be there for a week and I’m excited for a blast of warm(er) air and lighter outfits. Hope you have a great, shorter week!
