“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” Don’t you love that quote? It’s so true. September will forever feel like a fresh start in my book. I think it stems from my obsession with back to school and the feeling of a new year ahead – new supplies, a new wardrobe, and new goals. I’ve always felt like fall was my first of the year, more so than January. This year feels extra special with our pending arrival and a whole new lifestyle that is about to fall into our laps come October. I feel even more pressure to get organized, pair down the clutter, streamline my wardrobe, and get settled before diving into my new role as a mom.

I’ve rounded up my favorite ‘back to school’ essentials that have me excited for fall, starting with my closet. I can already tell that this year is going to be all about classics for me – a chambray shirt, easy tee’s, draped sweaters, a puffy vest, suede ballet flats, flared denim, booties, sneakers and oversized scarves. I’m also loving the trend of buttoned up skirts {here and here too} with OTK boots and a turtleneck.

And because desk accessories are the biggest promoter of productivity it’s time to stock up on my favorite fall candle, a pretty planner, a speaker for my favorite tunes, a camera that I’ve been dying to try, a new hard drive to prep for busy season, and a new leather bag that can double as a work tote and baby carryall.
