This yearly gift guide is always one of your favorites so I enlisted the help of my brother (like I do every year!) to put together a list of gifts that give back! He always introduces me to small businesses doing amazing things for our planet and the people who live here. Here are a few of my favorite picks!

We always feature these North Hats from Askov Finlayson, woven from 100% recycled yarn, for 40% fewer carbon emissions per hat. Askov Finlayson is a climate positive company, holding themselves accountable for our carbon footprint by giving 110% to support leading-edge solutions to the climate crisis each and every year in order to Keep The North Cold.

Newly’s Budapest Chef’s Board is a heavy duty cutting board made from edge-grain hardwood reclaimed from 18th and 19th century building-stock. Newly makes beautiful home goods from 100% recycled or repurposed materials. To date, they diverted 8.5 tons of waste from landfills, recycled nearly 20,000 PET bottles and saved nearly 4,000,000 gallons of water from being used.

We love Mafia Bags! This simple Corse Tote, made of strong sails and salvaged climbing ropes, make this bag sleek and simple. Ready to stow away on all of your adventures and big enough to carry all your precious cargo. We have a few styles that we use for grocery shopping or whenever we need an extra bag of stuff to pack up for a road trip, picnics or anything else. Mafia sources waste sails and other upcycled ropes and fabrics to craft their unique, one-of-a-kind bags and accessories.

Parks Project is another amazing brand who by building partnerships with organizations across the country is able to fund the projects most important for the future of America’s public lands. This calendar supports Habitat Conservation in our national parks. They have so many cool products (like this Yellowstone Pennant or Smoky Mountain Pennant – these would be so cute for a little boys room!, this “Leave it Better Than You Found It” sweatshirt or this Enamel Dish Set. But, their calendar is always a hit here!

Parker Clay is an amazing company which I got to learn about first hand when I was in Santa Barbara a couple years ago. Parker Clay is on a mission to end prostitution in Ethiopia. As of 2019, They have over 150 employees in their factory in Ethiopia, 96 of whom are women, and 32 of these women have been hired out of prostitution through a partnership with Ellilta Women at Risk. By the end of 2020, their goal is to hire over 100 more women, with the majority coming from the Ellilta Women at Risk program, fighting to bring even more women out of prostitution. It’s hard to recommend just one item from their collection because all of their pieces are amazing but I think this desk mat would be a cool edition to any home office!

So many amazing businesses and initiatives to support here!
