Hello! Happy new year!! It feels so good to be back—I’ve missed you guys!! I’m so excited for everything this year has in store for us. Overall, expect a lot more. More of my favorite products, a deeper look into our family life, more recipes, more motherhood, more glimpses of reality. I feel like I’m going into this new decade with the clearest picture of who I am, more confidence in my role as a working mom, more dreams for Hello Adams Family and so much excitement to share all of the things that make our world go round. Thank you for sticking with us all of these years, I think 2020 is going to be the best one yet!

I did a poll on Instagram stories about some of the content you want to see for the new year and a lot of you mentioned more specific product reviews of the things that I/we love. When I was thinking about the types of products I get the most questions about it is without a doubt beauty-related. I think beauty is an interesting topic because as much I admit I’m a person who is really regimented with my skincare routines, makeup and hair aren’t really my specialty! And in fact, I usually look to my friends Grace and Helena for beauty reviews because they know the best of the best. So when I thought about doing a recap of my favorite beauty purchases of 2019 I tried to limit it to 10 but that wasn’t possible. So here are my 20 most loved beauty products of 2019 in no particular order! I’m going to highlight some of my MUST HAVES below.

Best cleanser: Tula Purifying Face Cleanser (use code LIZADAMS for 20% off!)

Best eye cream: Beautycounter Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream is super rich but also has a natural retinol to combat aging! The best eye cream I’ve tried and I’ve tried A LOT.

Best face oil: Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum is luxe and expensive but trust me it will transform your skin! The best way I can describe it is that it pumps your skin with life. I just ordered a new bottle after being out for 3 weeks and I notice a serious difference in the radiance of my skin.

Best exfoliator: M-61 Power Glow Peel. I’ve been using these for 6 years so it’s not really a 2019 thing but a product that you didn’t know you needed. I got these after a makeup artist for my wedding told me I needed something to balance the texture of my skin. Everyone I’ve recommended these to raves about them just as much!

Best face mask: Biossance Renewal Mask is the mask you didn’t know you needed. Take this off and you will be so fresh-faced you’ll do a double-take!

Best face powder: Beauty Pie One Powder Wonder was honestly a gifted item that I didn’t try for MONTHS and I’m so mad at myself. This product is a dream that I didn’t know I needed! I feel like face powder is the most underrated beauty finisher and you must read the details of this product because it is 1000% true. This stuff is a flawless filter for your skin.

Best concealer: CoverFX Power Play Concealer was recommended to me by a beauty expert whose opinion I trust on everything (she also told me about this thing and it’s AMAZING). This concealer doesn’t move and fills in every blemish and line. I wear color P Light 2 which is lighter for my skin tone but I like to keep my eyes bright!

Best mascara: Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara. I try to test other ones and always go back to this one!

Best dry shampoo: Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. Nothing compares.

Best Body Products: Nécessaire Body Essentials are the products you didn’t know you needed. I didn’t realize how neglected my body was until I found these! Use code LIZ10 for 10% off!

Honestly, I couldn’t narrow down these products for a reason. These are all amazing and my favorites of 2019!! I hope they become your favorites of 2020!

  1. I just ordered the M-61 power glo peel and can’t wait to try! How often do you use the product? (The site said 3x per week but other reviews said less)

  2. Hey Liz, I know you love the Tula Primer and one additonal, specific for when we’re make-up. What is the second one, again?

    Thank you!

  3. I can’t wait to try Tula when we come over next year, going to have the order ready and waiting! Also, give me everything and anything that’s Hourglass, my favourite makeup EVER!

  4. I love your beauty posts, and frankly all of your posts. I’ve been following you for as long as I can remember and as a mom of two young kids similar in age to you, I find I can relate to so much of what you share every single day. Also, I probably am influenced by you more than any other blogger I follow. That being said- I wanted to share that I recently have become conflicted/confused and at times frustrated when you share about products in depth (which I love in your stories), and I decide to buy a few- and love them, and then you share different ones that make it seem like you no longer use the other ones. Sometimes it makes me feel like I’m getting sucked into being overly influenced (which is obviously my own problem…). Other times it makes me question which ones you truly use (vs just try for a bit and then stop for whatever reason). I say all this (as a huge fan of yours) because I wonder if you can speak more to when you chose to replace a product with a new one- do you still go back to your old ones? Do you ever do a partnership and then regret it (and therefore stop using the products)? Would you be able to share that with us so we can hear your honest opinion? Or do you have multiple brands of the same type of product (like a serum) and go back and forth between them? I hope this makes sense, and doesn’t sound too critical- just wanted to share some thoughts from a long-time follower. Best wishes to your family this new year!

  5. Can you post about what your am/pm regimens are? I am starting to try to care for my skin bc it’s looking quite dull as a new mom (or maybe from lack of sleep) and I don’t really know how to incorporate these things into a regimen.

    Thanks!!
