Between brunch with Santa and Thanksgiving dinner with the family, there are so many wonderful reasons to get dressed up this time of year. Since finding something to wear for all those events can be a bit intimidating, I wanted to share a few festive outfit formulas (both casual and fancy!) that work for all occasions.

The first two outfits are perfect for holiday events where you want to feel festive but not OVERLY dressed up. The velvet skirt is a little more glam but I love it paired with a cozy sweater and embellished heels. I actually just bought this skirt and can’t wait to style it in a similar look! There is something to be said about outfits that don’t feel overly holiday – you know? The soft pink is an unexpected color choice but feels feminine, especially when you add some extra sparkle

If you haven’t been able to tell from recent posts (seen here and here), sweater dresses are my jam this season. They feel and look effortless while still giving off all of the cozy vibes. I think they are the perfect answer to the question, “what am I going to wear for Thanksgiving?” Even if your family doesn’t dress up, this look would be perfect for pre and post-turkey day festivities. I love it paired with a subtle plaid scarf and hat.

My biggest dilemma around the holidays is that I want to buy and wear all of the holiday things but I never have enough events on the calendar. I remember telling Dave last year that maybe next year I’ll be cooler – turns out I’m even less cool at almost 38 weeks pregnant. Oh well. I’ll keep dreaming about all of the cute outfit ideas I have! Including this adorable strapless dress which would be perfect for a winter wedding or more formal holiday affair. I love playing up the emerald green color with these statement earrings and adding some sparkle with the shoe. I just picked up this eyeshadow palette for the holiday and it is so pretty. If you’re like me and rarely wear eyeshadow, this palette has every shade you could possibly want and need.

I couldn’t not throw in a cute pant option (remember this outfit and this outfit from last year? also, I miss my long hair!) and this look is perfect for dinner parties, brunch with Santa, an ornament exchange with girlfriends or family photos. I already pulled out my lace pants from last year and saw that they were restocked this year! I love this simple look paired with a bold red lip and a gorgeous necklace

If you’re looking for even more outfit inspiration, here are a few more items I’m eyeing…

This adorable sweater.

The prettiest embellished bow barrette for your hair.

An oversized faux fur wrap

These cute embellished heels or these velvet bow heels!

I just ordered this jumpsuit for our Santa brunch (I thought it would be good for nursing!) and plan to wear it with this velvet blazer

I am a sucker for a simple embellished black dress

This cute sequin tee is only $68 (would look so cute with the lace pants)!

So, which look is your favorite?? Any fun holiday events that you can’t wait to dress up for?
