If there is one thing I have learned since becoming a mom it is the true value of the moms in my life. Being a mom means so many things. It means giving up your own needs for someone else, teaching your child what it means to love, being a constant role model (most of the time, ha!), sacrificing your own happiness to make your child happy and basically giving the rest of your life to a human who will forever count on you. I say this because becoming a mom has reminded me how much I rely on my own parents. I hope that although I have my own children, I will always remain a child in my parent’s eyes. You know that book “Love You Forever” (I cry every time I read it)? Now that I have Charlie, I want him to know that as long as I live he will always be my baby. I am sure my mom, my grandmothers and every mom before me has felt the same way.
Mother’s Day has always been an important holiday but is significantly more special since I became a mom. Mom’s deserve this day (ha, I can say that, right?). For me, it is important to celebrate the women that have defined who I am as a mom. I can’t think of a more perfect way than creating something personal for the women that I love.
Shutterfly has always been my resource for photos and photo books but I was so excited to find all of the customizable gifts they have available. Not only are their items perfect for Mother’s Day but it was so fun to go through all of our old photos to make each item special. You can literally customize everything and really make each piece feel completely personal. I always try to think of things that make me happy when I’m buying a gift for others. I knew I wanted to put together a little care package of my favorite things for my favorite ladies.
When I think about Mother’s Day there are three women that come to mind: my mom, my grandmother and Dave’s mom. Now that I’m a mom I know how special personalized gifts can be and just how thoughtful it is when en someone goes out of their way to create something just for you. Shutterfly makes this process so easy.
A cup of coffee is the first think I think about when I wake up so I knew I wanted to customize mugs with Charlie’s face plastered all over. I decided on this style, this style and this style. I also made personal note pads because who doesn’t love writing to-do lists on a pretty piece of paper? One of my favorite gifts was this candle (it smells like the most beautiful sprint bouquet!) and I added one of my all time favorite photos from Charlie’s first birthday party. I should have gotten a few more of these made because I kind of want to keep them for myself. Since the weather is warming up and summer is on the horizon, I decided to put all of these goodies into a personal canvas tote that would be perfect for pool days, trips to the farmers market, picnics in the park, travel, etc. Shutterfly has so many cute styles and colors to choose from and it really rounds out the gifts for my favorite ladies.
How cute is Charlie helping me put together our packages? He loves his grandmother’s and great grandmother so so much. He is Mr. Curious these days and loves being my little helper. He kept pointing at the coffee mugs and saying “Cha-weee.” I love being his mama.
All mom’s deserve a little (a lot!) of love on Mother’s Day. It’s a day that I proudly celebrate by honoring the amazing women in my life. What will you be giving your mom for Mother’s Day? All of these items would bring the biggest smile to any mom’s face. A gift that shows just how loved they are!
