One of my favorite things about traveling is discovering the best places to shop, sip and eat while we visit. I am a sucker for cute little boutiques, local coffee shops and spots that you can tell bring something special to the neighborhood. It is great to shop at stores that you know have everything you need, but I always feel happiest when I leave a small shop. You can tell that the owner(s) are trying to provide their customers with a memorable experience and truly appreciate your business.

We visited my brother at Kansas State University last weekend in Manhattan, Kansas, a city that is very near and dear to my family. My dad grew up in a tiny town in the middle of Kansas, graduated from Kansas State, and since I was little we have always visited and cheered for the KState Wildcats. It is a family affair. 

Aggieville is the college town/neighborhood within Manhattan; lined with adorable shops and places to explore. One of my favorites is Acme Gift. If you’re from Kansas, their apparel and custom glassware will excite you, but the store itself is filled with quirky gifts, books, cards, fresh flowers and home decor. The exterior of the store draws you in. It is always so happy and inviting, especially with that neon vintage flowers sign above the door.
