Who else is ready to ditch the darks and switch their wardrobes into a softer color palette? Dave and I spent all day on Sunday spring cleaning our place which meant organizing my closet, donating clothes and switching out my winter stuff for spring/summer.
I’ve been gravitating towards french blues, blush and white as we transition into a new season, accented by subtle prints like stripes, gingham and lace. My style has always been pretty feminine but since becoming a mom I’ve tried to steer clear of more trendy pieces in exchange for classic silhouettes and styles that I know will be timeless in my wardrobe. Texture is HUGE for me. I love mixing embellishments with loose knits or distressed styles. It’s the easiest way to make a dressy item feel casual or vice versa.
Accessories are a huge part of dressing for Chicago’s seasonal changes. There are times you still have to layer up but can ditch the coat and reach for flats rather than boots. My absolute favorites accessories are always shoes and one of my favorite shoe designers is Loeffler Randall. I have accumulated quite the collection of LR pieces in the last few years and to celebrate spring they are offering Sequins & Stripes readers and followers 20% off my favorite pieces from their current collection until Friday! Just enter code SEQUIN20 at checkout. My Sosie tassel flat sandals and Harper wrap espadrille wedges are included plus so many more amazing styles. Shop my picks here.
*I have linked as many items from these photos as I could below, however, a few of them are older styles so I chose similar options in the scroll. Enjoy!
