Dave, Webster, and I have been in our new apartment for a week and this place feels extra special since it will be the first home we share with our baby. A move can be stressful and if you’re like me then you expect everything to be clean, in its place, and styled within days but realistically this just isn’t possible. I’ve been working hard to really figure out what I want for this space, learning how my style has evolved in the last few years, and finding inspiration from my favorite tastemakers.
As renters, there isn’t much we can do to change the bones of our apartment so I’m focusing on neutrals to accent the character it already has and invest in pieces that I know we will use in future homes. Amber Interiors does the laid back, refined, California-cool vibe so so well and I love her use of texture to create an airy space. Natural fibers, leather, subtle prints, neutral color palettes, wood accents, gold details – the entire vibe is fresh and clean. I’m taking serious inspiration from the images above and have already invested in a few neutrals to spruce up our living space: this jute and chenille rug, a new coffee table, and fresh pillows complimented by our trusted favorites like this bar cart, gold round mirror, and our Gray Malin beach photo. Next on the list: our dining room and nursery.
