To start, I want to say that this little space is really special to both of us. After working from home for a year in a desk that was directly next to my bed, I was feeling really unmotivated, discouraged, and just kind of lonely working for myself. Alex had asked me if I would ever be interested in finding an office space in Chicago but having just started a business my mindset was save, save, save. However, a year later Alex approached me again and I decided that it would only be beneficial to me, my work, and my brand if I found a new way to get inspired that wasn’t in my bedroom {plus, Dave was moving in and he works from home too, I knew that working together was not going to be an option}. Creative spaces are few and far between in Chicago. Aside from the Merchandise Mart and a few buildings in the West Loop, we knew that there weren’t many options for a shared space in the neighborhood we wanted so Alex set out to find a small place to call our own. We had a tight budget and knew that it would be tough to find an office space that works for both of us in an expensive city but we kept our fingers crossed and this little gem basically fell into our laps {thanks to a good realtor friend!}. It took 5 months to finalize everything {commercial leases are no joke} but we finally moved into our office and very slowly began to build a place that inspires us. Over a year and a half later we finally got our shit together and here we are! A space that makes us want to come to work everyday, that allows us to brainstorm new ideas, bounce ideas off each other, and that makes us happy – the ultimate gift. Alex was the brains behind it all and I absolutely love how everything turned out. Thanks for the feature GG!
