A Week of 2012

With the first week of 2012 wrapping up, I am definitely feeling the pressure to get organized and start this year off on the right foot. I am thrilled to say that in 2012 I have some amazing opportunities on the horizon and lots of exciting things to come for Sequins and Stripes. All of this excitement would not be possible without every one of you. Your feedback, support, encouragement, and confidence in my opinions and personal style are the drive behind my dedication to this blog and making the jump to starting my own business. This past year has been a dream thanks to you and I can’t wait to see what the rest of 2012 holds. So, here’s to the end of a wonderful year…
At the end of 2011, I: purchased this tray {one for my mom, one for me}, have been checking in on my parent’s home renovation in the suburbs {including this amazing oyster shell marble}, wore this scarf a thousand times, lived in my Sperry’s throughout our trip to Charleston, walked along the palm trees, and took in the seaside Christmas lights.

I wore sequins, stripes, my Timex, and fun baubles as much as possible, visited the beach, enjoyed lunch with my family, and admired the beautiful homes on the island.

I collected seashells + sand dollars on the beach, tried to take Gus on a 6 mile walk {he got tired}, paired shiny gold with velvet bows and sparkles, and grew a mustache.

I made this delicious pie for Christmas dinner, curled up in leopard and plaid {again, told you my scarf got a lot of wear}, received this polka dot scarf as a gift from my sister, finally purchased this shirt and necklace, and shopped around King Street.

We left Charleston and headed to a special plantation outside of Charleston where we enjoyed skeet shooting, quail hunts, rounds of golf, oyster roasts, lots of bonfires, and drinks in mason jars. It was heaven.

To ring in 2012, I: dressed up for NYE, lounged on New Years Day with Webster, made truffle and parmesan popcorn, styled my Jess LC stationary and new Tilly Maison tray, and gave Gus lots of kisses.

I hope the first week of 2012 has treated you well and is a sign of good things to come in the year ahead. xoxo
