The Fall Shirt Dress

shop this look: Vineyard Vines Dress (wearing a small), Loeffler Randall Boots, Little Liffner Sprout Mini Tote

Something about fall style feels classic and effortless. A shirt dress is one of those pieces that always feels appropriate this time of year. An item that can easily be dressed down with sneakers or dressed up with heels. If I’m being honest, I used to think this style was too “serious” for me but I’ve found that it’s all about wearing the shirt dress, not letting it wear you. I’ve also found that you can find styles that feel more feminine. Details like a defined waist, no collar, tiered skirt, etc. This one from Vineyard Vines is the perfect silhouette because of its soft silk and feminine details (like the ruching at the shoulder and puff sleeve) and lines. This dress would make a beautiful option for Thanksgiving dinner.

A few other options I’m loving include this beautiful cornflower dress (love this for Thanksgiving!), a pretty color block option or this gold lamé shirt dress is FUN. As always, find more outfit inspo in the archives here! Lots of fun holiday styles can be found here.

How do you feel about the shirt dress? Yay or nay?
