How I Maintain A Healthy Lifestyle Around the Holidays

Maintaining an active lifestyle around the holidays is hard. I’m the first to admit that when my schedule gets busy, a workout on the calendar is the first thing to go. I started to think about this concept and how sacrificing exercise really sets the tone for my entire day. Out of everything we have on our schedules during this busy season, exercise is the only thing that I truly do for myself. When I skip my workouts my mood, stress level, patience and overall happiness is affected. I always say that I have to kick my butt at the gym before the day (and my kids) kick my butt. We all prioritize our schedules and it wasn’t until this year that my workouts earned a dedicated spot in my calendar. It’s a break from the craziness that I need during this busy and special time of year. 

Finding motivation to maintain an active lifestyle during a hectic schedule is hard which is why setting small goals is the best way to make sure you achieve them! I like to try and be active for 30 minutes every day, even if that means bundling up the boys and going for a walk in the cold. Another trick I have is finding pieces for my wardrobe that double as fitness and lifestyle so whether I’m running errands or starting my day with a workout, I’m always prepared! lululemon’s new lifestyle pieces are sooo good. From sweaters to outerwear to cute joggers – I feel like they are made for that mom life (and a hectic holiday season). Some of my recent favorites from lululemon are all items that I can wear for daycare drop off, wear to the gym and stay in the rest of the day. I wear this long sleeve tee all the time (it looks cute with jeans, too!) and it’s also one of my favorites for a workout with my trainer. When I don’t want to wear leggings but want that same comfort level, I always reach for my lululemon On the Fly pants (I have them in 3 colors). They are the perfect travel pant. I also wore them throughout my pregnancy with Jack (sized up)! So so comfortable and kind of like a more polished version of a jogger.

I was in desperate need of a new gym bag and immediately fell in love with this On My Level Bag. I love the shape and size, it fits everything I need to start my day after the gym. You know that I’ve been loving all of lululemon’s outerwear this season (I actually got Dave this for Christmas, hopefully, he doesn’t read this post too closely). I couldn’t resist this wool puffer – I love the neutral colors and I feel like it feels more sophisticated than most puffer coats. I actually wore this into the gym the other day and received 4 compliments before even getting to the locker room! It’s a good one. 

My lululemon pieces are truly my most worn in my closet and I always welcome new additions. I am utilizing their gift guides to buy items for my loved ones. They have so many great gift ideas for women, men, young girls and stocking stuffers! There is something for everyone on your list!
