I hinted at this in my Instagram stories, but HOLIDAY LIZ has arrived and she is here to stay! As soon as Halloween was over I started pulling out all of my favorite Christmas decorations and I’ve basically transformed our house into a holiday wonderland. The only thing missing is a tree! (We always get a real Christmas tree, so we will put that up after Thanksgiving.) I know that most of you probably don’t start decorating *quite* as early as I do, but I received lots of requests to share the details of my holiday decor + where I like to shop for seasonal decorations, so I’m rounding all that up for you here!
My Favorite Christmas + Holiday Decor
I’ll start off by talking about the piece of holiday decor that I always put up first—wreaths! We currently have these boxwood wreaths from Ballard Designs hanging in our dining room windows, and I’m going to hang this white flocked wreath on our front door. I also love this Joy wreath and this pre-lit triple wreath, too (the ribbon is so pretty!).
Our family’s stockings were actually handmade by my grandmother, but if I had to buy new stockings for our fireplace I would go with these beautiful ivory knit ones. I also love the idea of gifting stockings to a new homeowner or a newly married couple!
When we do have our Christmas tree, I’m planning on decorating it with this wood garland and using this woven tree collar to cover up the tree stand. I love how both of those are festive but still neutral enough to work with our normal interior decor!
You may have seen these Santa mugs in my post about holiday traditions last year and I am SO excited to bring them out again.
I’m planning to use these tree towels, this serving platter, and these mugs to set our table for a few different holiday parties!
I’ve always loved the look of greenery garlands along a banister or a mantle, and this olive leaf garland is gorgeous. You could also lay it across the middle of a table and intersperse it with citrus fruit, pomegranates, or candles to create an extra-festive tablescape.
We just started the Elf on a Shelf tradition last year, but Charlie had fun with it and Jack should too now that he is a little older! Anything to remind the boys that Santa is watching, haha.
