Finding *the* dress is obviously one of the most exciting (and important!) elements of wedding planning, but I didn’t realize how many other wedding-related occasions would require white dresses. Between bachelorette parties, bridal showers, engagement photos, and engagement parties, the number of white dresses in my closet has quadrupled over the past few months (meaning I started with one). Since so many of you have been asking for help figuring out what to wear to all your bridal events, I thought I would share a few of my favorite dresses I’ve found throughout the process!
What to Wear for Engagement Photos
This is one of the most frequently questions submitted to Coffee with Liz! Jeans, boots, and a classic sweater are fabulous options if you want to keep things more casual, or I love the look of a dress like this one (Liz’s favorite ever, seen here) if you want to get a bit dressier. Ultimately, you want to wear whatever will make you feel like yourself! I ended up wearing a Reformation wrap dress, this skirt and an ivory sweater for my engagement photos because they felt most like me when I was considering all the options. But if you’re set on wearing white for your photos, here are a few dresses I love:
Classic and elegant
So pretty for a spring or summer photoshoot
Eyelets and bell sleeves (under $90)
This dress would be so cute layered under a denim jacket
Simple and sophisticated
What to Wear for Your Bridal Shower
I’m actually having two bridal showers—one with my West Coast fam and one with my Midwest fam—which means I get to pick out two bridal shower dresses (lucky me, right?). I know I will be wearing this dress for one of the showers, but I still need to figure out what I’m wearing to the other party. A few looks I’m considering:
This flattering eyelet shift dress
Love the scallop detail on this dress (under $120)
And the floral detail on this dress!
This dress is too cute to handle
This dress is dreamy
What to Wear for Your Rehearsal Dinner
I’m almost as excited for our rehearsal dinner as I am for our actual wedding. Instead of a traditional rehearsal dinner, we’re doing more of a “welcome dinner” for all of our guests, with an outdoor bar and local food trucks serving up gourmet tacos. But even with our casual setting, I still want to dress the part! Here are a few rehearsal dinner dresses I’m eyeing:
Simple, classic, and stunning
I love the bow detail on this dress
A beautiful option under $100
This lace midi dress
This jumpsuit is super fun (I’m obsessed with this one, too, also available on Rent the Runway)
What to Wear for Your Bachelorette Party
Okay, so my bachelorette party is in Denver, Colorado, and it’s Parent Trap-themed, so I’m probably not the person to ask if you’re looking for something scandalous and skintight. But no matter your style, there’s no better time to rock a little white dress than your bachelorette party! What about:
This one-shoulder number
This little lace shift dress
This structured crepe dress
This tiered ruffle dress
Or this amazing feathered dress
Happy wedding planning and white dress shopping!
