When I worked in the corporate world I looked forward to getting dressed up every single day. I loved waking up, putting on my favorite dress or pencil skirt, grabbing a pair of heels and commuting with everyone into the city. It was a rush, a sense of productivity and that feeling that the day was mine to tackle! Although my job doesn’t require true work attire in an office setting, I still love getting all dressed up for meetings, trips to the city and everything in between.
Work attire has a whole new meaning these days now that women rely on items that can take them from their 9-5 to cocktails with friends. There are so many chic options for the office and I always find favorites from Ann Taylor. Ann Taylor has been a staple in workwear for as long as I can remember and I am always impressed by their collections. I picked out this stripe shirtdress (wearing a small) because I knew it would look great with pumps for day and OTK boots for night. This moto jacket makes it feel a little more edgy and less office setting – a great addition to any work wardrobe.
My favorite part of this outfit has to be the shoes! Leopard pumps are on trend year after year and I never shy away from an opportunity to mix prints. Instead of pairing this dress with a classic black pump, I love the way the leopard print adds a little fun to this look! I promise you will get so much wear out of these shoes – even cute with a cozy sweater and your favorite jeans. Throw on a moto jacket over your favorite work dress and you’re ready for happy hour!
What is your office setting like? Do you dress up or is it casual? I will always appreciate an office setting that requires a business professional dress code. Dressing the part is a huge factor in productivity. No matter what industry you’re in, even if your office setting is a little more strict, you can still have fun with your work style thanks to Ann Taylor!
