It’s no secret that French girls have got it going on. My Pinterest boards are almost entirely devoted to French style at this point, and I’ve slowly been finding ways to incorporate more effortlessly chic and feminine pieces into my wardrobe. The best thing about French fashion is that it doesn’t take much to come across as super stylish—all you need are a few essential items that look great with everything from a floral skirt to faded denim. And after a fair amount of research, I’ve nailed down all the key pieces you need for the perfect Spring capsule wardrobe. Check out the list below, along with a few more of my favorite French-inspired finds!
A cool striped shirt: I love the modern cut of this shirt, this top would look great with high-waisted jeans, and the sleeves on this striped shirt are so cute.
A silk camisole: This cami would look super chic under a light cardigan, this button-down cami is perfect for a night out, and I love the dainty scalloped detail on this camisole.
Delicate gold jewelry: Gold hoops, a thin gold choker necklace, and a statement chain for layering are all necessities.
A jacket to pull your outfit together: Cool French girls always wear a light-wash denim jacket, a leather jacket, or a classic trench (only $40!).
A mini wrap dress: It doesn’t get much more figure-flattering than this floral wrap dress, this ruffled style, or this summery dress.
Statement sunnies: These cat-eye sunglasses, this retro pair, and these round tortoise sunglasses (love) all fit the bill.
A romantic midi dress: I’ve been coveting this green printed midi dress for a while, this under $100 dress would be so cute under a denim jacket, and this ruffle midi dress would be beautiful for a spring wedding!
Spring heels: I just bought these espadrille wedges and can’t say enough about how comfortable they are, these mules will go with everything, and the color of these double-strap sandals is gorgeous.
A silk blouse: You can wear this button-down blouse, this relaxed silk blouse and this short-sleeve silk shirt straight from work to cocktails.
A silk scarf: Tie a printed silk scarf (I love this striped one, too!) around your neck or your ponytail to feel French in less than a minute.
A unique handbag: this black cross-body bag is a great neutral, this jute tote bag is perfect for warm weather days and this rattan crossbody bag will make you feel like you’re heading to a picnic (in a good way).
Vintage-inspired denim that hits your waist at just the right spot: Try this iconic Levi’s style, these white bootcut jeans, or this high-waisted crop jean.
An A-line skirt: It’s all about florals, a wrap silhouette, or buttons.
Black trousers: I think every girl needs a pair of these under $60 pants, these Everlane easy pants, and these J.Crew Maddie pants for easy, sophisticated office outfits.
Black flats: Slip on a pair of loafers, d’Orsay flats or mules and you’re practically a Parisian.
What about you? Do you find French fashion influencing your own style choices?
Happy Saturday!
