So many of you have asked why we haven’t moved into our new home yet (trust me, we are anxious too!) so I wanted to share an update! We are currently renting back our house to the previous owners. We have our lease in Chicago until the end of July and actually found our home way earlier than we intended to. They have four kids and we really aren’t in a huge rush (although now I am ready to be in!) so they are staying put until the middle of June as they finishing renovating their new home. After we paint a few rooms we should be ready to move in around July 1!

We are starting to order some furniture to fill a few rooms that we don’t currently have and it makes me so excited! One room I am particularly excited about is our living room which has a big white brick fireplace and tons of windows. We are going to go with a lighter and brighter palette (yay!). Having a chocolate lab and now Charlie makes this idea a little terrifying but the rest of our rooms will be very kid friendly. My plan is to go with furniture that has a sleek silhouette but still looks/feels cozy and comfortable. Our current living room set up at our apartment will be utilized in a more casual family room so I want this to feel a little more formal. Our own big kid house!

If you remember this post you’ll see that we have and love our Interior Define sectional and I’m excited to add some of more of their pieces into our new home. I love the Caitlin sofa and I’m debating between an ivory fabric or a light grey velvet. I know the velvet will hold up better against our children. I want to frame the fireplace with two high back chairs and love this style from Serena & Lily. I know I want a neutral pattern rug to warm up the space and I looooove this open coffee table from Wisteria. 

So many decisions to make! I am also excited to update our bedroom (who wants our headboard??) and finally buy some pretty light fixtures that I’ve been bookmarking for years (I want this one for our entry). Also, we will be doing some videos for youtube of our design process, including an entire walk through before we move our stuff in! The house is so sweet, I can’t wait to show you!
