The Importance of Dressing for Yourself

When I was going through these photos I realized how often I wear a similar combo to this look (proof here, here, here and here). Day to day I don’t really think of myself having a “style” but then when I really think about it I guess I clearly do. Obviously we all gravitate towards specific things that reflect who wear are and how we like to dress – but it is interesting to think of these individual items on a larger scale.

If you look through my blog, it is very rare that you see me in something super casual. My casual is usually a version of this top (like this or this) with skinny jeans and ballet flats. I very rarely find myself throwing on a white tee and jeans. I guess I always like to feel a little more polished than that (even around the house).

I’m not the most stylish person in the world (ha) but I enjoy getting dressed and wearing designers who’s collections I admire. Fashion is about having fun and feeling confident. I hate the days when I think to myself “I am going to step out of my comfort zone and wear ____” and then the entire day I am self conscious about my outfit choice. Just stick to your gut. Wear what makes you happy. This little peplum top (or anything peplum really, my husband HATES peplum, jokes on him!) makes me happy.
