I find it very hard to turn down anything striped (hello this, this, this and this) but when I saw this cropped jacket from Two Penny Blue I knew it was meant to be. I love the nautical vibes, horn buttons and muted tone. It pairs with everything and is an easy option to grab when you’re on the go. Sometimes wearing stripes can be daunting. I always get questions asking how to style stripes with different prints, how to use them as a layering piece and accessorizing with stripes. My best answer is to just go for it! It is the print that goes with everything. I promise if you play around you’ll be surprised at how well stripes pair with other pieces in your closet.

I’ve been all about ease lately but also really try to make an effort to buy/wear items that are basic but stylish. I can see this jacket being in my closet for years and years to come. A piece that never goes out of style! Plus, did you know that for every jacket purchase at Two Penny Blue they donate a school uniform to a girl in Africa? That’s pretty special. I can’t help but love that they are a Chicago brand, too.

In the fall my go-to work outfit is always a pair of flare jeans, basic tee and a jacket. Understated but thought out is what I’m going for. On a side note, this linen tank is what I wear under almost everything. It comes in a bunch of colors, is comfortable and fits well without looking like a ribbed tank. A bit more polished.

We are back from a quick trip to Charleston and it feels good to be home. Dave was on a fishing trip with the boys in my family so Charlie and I decided to go visit my grandmother for a couple of days. She is 90 and amazing. I can’t tell you how special it is to see four generations together. What are you up to this weekend? Charlie’s best friend has his first birthday so we are going to the suburbs. Hoping to get some pool time in, too.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
