I think when a combo is unexpected it inevitably looks like you put a lot of effort into your look when in reality you pulled two of our favorite items in your closet in hopes that they work together. This shirt is a new favorite (worn here with distressed jeans) and my white lace midi skirt is an old favorite (similar styles here and here).

One thing I’ve learned since having Charlie is that shoes can completely change the feel of my outfits. I could be wearing my boyfriend jeans and a baggy tee but throw on a cute pair of heels or ballet flats and immediately feel pulled together. I’ve learned to appreciate the nice items in my closet (since I don’t get dressed as often as I’d like these days) and invest money in items that can elevate numerous outfits – i.e.: shoes and accessories. A few of my must have shoe styles for spring/summer are wedges, strappy heels (also love these and these), flat sandals (also love this classic style), mulesespadrilles (I want these and these) and sneakers.
