With my first Mothers Day around the corner, I’m feeling extra emotional about the past 7 months, my role as a mom and my relationship with my own mom. In the last month Charlie has hit an age where every single day is so much fun and I no longer feel like a “new mom.” I still may not always know what I’m doing, and most days I fly by the seat of my pants, but it is a job that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I have a new found respect for women who devote their lives to children because it is HARD WORK but so rewarding.

Now that I’m a mom I have been trying to come up with Mother’s Day gift ideas for my mom, grandmother and mother-in-law that will show them how very much I appreciate everything they do and have done for me. Dave gave me this “mom” necklace a few weeks ago when I was having a rough week and I know it will always be a special piece in my jewelry box. It’s a reminder that I’m always working on my most important and meaningful job, being a mom to Charlie. It’s also my new favorite way to describe myself – a mom – the best adjective ever.

As a woman, I would be lying if I said I didn’t like to receive jewelry as a gift.
