Vacation Style Under $100

vacation mode under $100On Saturday we leave for Turks & Caicos – yay! – and my mind is in serious vacation mode. I picked up a few new items for my suitcase and found so many pieces that I wish I had packed but would also be perfect for spring. Plus, everything (except these heels because they are so good!) is under $100! So no buyers remorse here…

Can we talk about this gingham combo? Old Navy’s new arrivals are amazing, seriously they are really bringing their A game. This, this, this, these, this and this are coming with me on vacation!

Clearly I’m all about white and blue. It’s easier for me to pack when I know I am bringing items in the same color palette that can be mixed and matched. I love this off the shoulder top, white blouse and denim boho blouse (reminds me of my top in this post).

These platform espadrille sandals are so fun for upcoming warm weather!

I am all about white dresses for spring. This, this, this and this are all under $100!

Have any of you been to Turks & Caicos? We are staying on Grace Bay and would love any suggestions!

  1. Coco bistro is so good! also, rent a car and spend a day at taylor bay. its seriously out of a dream. so beautiful!

  2. Hi Liz!! Turks & Caicos is one of my favorite places. Here are some of my recommendations:

Magnolia – really delicious and such a beautiful view. I would advise making a reservation around sunset and sitting outside so you can enjoy the view and take some pretty pictures. Here were my favorite things on the menu… Tuna Tartar, Sweet Potato & Plantain Soup, Sesame Crusted Tuna, Chicken Coconut Curry, and the Grilled Lobster (it was a special so may not be on the menu all the time). The desserts were also so good .. I loved the chocolate cake and the roasted strawberries.

Da Conch Shack – Definitely order the cracked conch & the fried shrimp.. both are very fried but so good! I also loved the Jerk Chicken Wings if you are tired of eating sea food by this point. I ordered the grilled fish which was delicious, but the blackened fish tacos were even better. You can also walk down to the beach and see them actually taking the conch out of the shells which is cool. Last thing – “peas and rice” actually means “beans and rice”. They refer to beans as peas all over the island.

The Green Bean – We were on Turtle Cove, so we ate ate here for lunch a few times. They have really great salads, sandwiches, smoothies, coffee drinks, etc., so that’s a good place too and easy to walk up to after snorkeling. I always ordered the Grilled Shrimp Salad and it was so fresh and delicious. Their brownies are also quite yummy.

You really can’t go wrong in terms of restaurants – they are all delicious and seafood-y, so if you like that sort of thing, you will love it. The grouper is usually local and so good anywhere you order it too.

Last thing, we rented a jet ski one morning (from http://www.caribbean-cruisin.com/turks-caicos-jet-ski-rentals) and I swear it was the best thing we did. We took the guided tour and they took us all around the islands and the water was so beautiful and clear.. definitely do it if you can! I’m still thinking about it!

Have fun on your trip!!! Can’t wait to hear about it xoxox

  3. SOOO jealous of your Turks trip! It’s where we honeymooned almost 3 years ago – and why our yellow lab is named Turk 🙂 I can’t rave enough about T&C, we had the best trip. You must eat dinner at Coco Bistro –
and definitely make a reservation as soon as you get down there, if not before, because they book up fast. Our other favorite dinner was at the Beach House (where I had insane resort envy). Have an amazing trip – will look forward to seeing your photos and hearing about your time.

  4. I hadn’t looked at Old Navy in a while… that gingham set is everything!!!!

Have fun in T&C. The Conch Shack is amazing for lunch, and I really loved the restaurant at the Grace Bay Hotel for dinner. One of my gf’s has an awesome list, I’m going to email it to you now. Xo

  5. Love, love, love Turks & Caicos! You will have the best time. Not sure where you are staying but both The Gansevoort and the Grace Bay Club are beautiful hotels! For dinner go to Coco Bistro and the restaurant at the Grace Bay Club. Do before & after dinner drinks at the Infiniti Bar at the Grace Bay Club. Magnolia has beautiful views and is very kid friendly if you are bringing Charlie – can’t remember if we loved the food or not! The Conch Shack is great for lunch. The water in front of the Windsong Resort (I think that is what it was called!) is beautiful and was the best for snorkeling. The whole beach on Grace Bay is perfect really but I remember there was tons of sea life on that stretch of the beach with clear blue water! Have the best time!!
