Pretty Things for Spring

Pretty Things for SpringI couldn’t sleep last night and spent that time catching up on my favorite stores to see what was new and noteworthy for spring. So so so many things that I want in my closet right now! However, I’m at this weird stage where my stomach is getting bigger and my jeans don’t fit and shopping seems silly because who knows if I’ll actually be able to wear these items in the months to come – you know? Any mommies out there that want to fill me in on what to expect in the next 5 months? I’m all ears!

Anyways, clearly I’m craving blues, whites, and soft pink for spring. All of these items are so perfectly feminine and would make for the ideal weekend wear or date night attire. ASOS has so many amazing pieces right now, I always love browsing their new arrivals – this striped romper is adorable and this floral dress would make for the perfect wedding guest look. In the meantime I think I need this coat! These DVF gingham shorts are pretty much the cutest ever, you could even pair it with the matching top to complete the look {I’d wear it with these Joie wedges}. I’m obsessing over these Lisi Lerch tassel earrings in white – so chic. This Kate Spade clutch is such a fun statement and I’m thinking I need these big sunnies to match. {{If I can’t wear certain clothes then I’m going to stock up on accessories!}}

Kate Spade just announced their Friends & Family Sale! 25% off your purchase with code DEAREST! That means this clutch HAS to be mine. I’m also eyeing this bikini, the Talia coat {the scalloped details is so pretty}, gorgeous dotted heels {with a bow!}, embellished sandals {love these too}, and the Mini Maise Bag in white!

Loeffler Randall is currently having their Friends & Family Sale! 20% off your purchase with code HEYFRIEND. My favorite sandals also come in nude and would make your legs look so long and pretty. I am also eyeing this fun clutch.

One last item to note, D&G Classic Lipstick in Delicious is my color for spring/summer! It is the perfect coral orange red and the lipstick itself is so soft and creamy. I love NARS Heat Wave but the matte finish doesn’t always look great on my lips {especially if they are chapped}. D&G might be a bit more expensive but the color and texture is flawless! 1. Hi Liz!
    I have such a hard time sleeping while pregnant. It took me until 3rd trimester of my second pregnancy to find something that works: lavender essential oil on my pillow, and cedarwood essential oil on the soles of my feet (with socks on after applying because I don’t love the smell). It knocks me out within 20 minutes and keeps me drowsy when I toss around at night so I can go right back to sleep.
    The secret to maternity clothes is that you can wear anything that doesn’t have a constricting waist line. Anything that’s stretchy or has an empire waist is your friend. And maternity jeans are so essential for now and the first couple of months after delivery. Gap carries my favorite maternity jeans, and thank heaven for their maternity room at the Michigan Ave location. It’s hard to find many brands that carry their maternity clothes in store versus online and trying on everything is so helpful. I hope you’re feeling well!

    1. Thank you Bethany!! This was SO helpful!! So so excited for your new little girl arriving so soon. Your little family is just the sweetest. xoxo

  2. Congrats on your pregnancy! It’s a beautiful thing! DSL and JBrand have amazing maternity jeans. Asos has a cute maternity section as well! Have you tried Charlotte tilbury lipstick yet? Good luck with everything!

  3. Liz,

    I found that the AG maternity jeans were worth the splurge. I loved the jegging ones. They were great in early fall with flats and in the winter with boots. I never felt they were too constricting. I just got my basics from the Old Navy maternity section. The basic tanks and tee-shirts were great and not too expensive. I tried to pair them with flowy non-maternity items since maternity stuff is so expensive. LOFT was my savior with their maxi dresses. I wore those during my awkward showing, but not too big yet phase. I hope all of that was helpful!!! I am so excited for you!!

    Erin

  4. Great stuff you have picked! My fave is probably sunglasses, Michael Kors bag and these gingham shorts are so cute!

  5. Biggest congrats, Liz! Love your style and follow your blog every day! I just had a little boy, he’s now 6 months old, and it’s so exciting to be a mom! Pregnancy items/things I found helpful were: cool lavender Epsom salt baths before bed time (to reduce swelling/joint aches), a big “c” shaped body pillow, drinking TONS of water during the day but tapering before bed, lots of pillows for propping me up during the last trimester, tums, the bellaband, prenatal massages (as many as you can get!) to keep hips loose and aches at bay, and lots and lots of bodycon and maxi dresses paired with cardigans and little jackets : ) I could not find a perfect pair of maternity jeans – j brand, Paige, nothing was quite right – so I ended up wearing leggings or twill maternity crops (gap) if I wore pants. Can’t wait to see baby Adams bump grow and grow! It’s a pretty wild ride, but soo worth it! Congrats again!
