I credit my grandmother for my love of trousers. There is something so understatedly chic about them and I have always admired women who can walk into a party, confident in trousers rather than your typical festive dress. With plaid everywhere this season, I had been on the hunt for a fun way to incorporate my favorite print into my wardrobe that wasn’t necessarily a shirt or a scarf. When I spotted these plaid pants at Old Navy last week, I knew they had to be mine.

My first idea was to take after my grandmother and rock them at our next cocktail party. I love how easy this look feels paired with a black sweater and suede pumps and I can’t wait to dress them up even more with a festive top and sparkly baubles. On weekdays that require me to look a little more professional, I love wearing a tailored pant and pairing them with pieces in my closet that are more relaxed. I am a sucker for mixing prints and I love how the larger scale of this striped turtleneck complements the plaid. It’s an easy and comfortable look for days when I’m stuck running around the city!
