Chicago is known for many things – chic Michigan Avenue, the towering Sears (Willis) Tower, impressive museums, expansive Grant Park and the prized Buckingham Fountain, cherished Wrigley Field, and the beautiful Chicago River, to name a few. But Chicago’s greatest attribute is the miles and miles of lakeshores we have lining our beloved city and Lake Michigan. Soft sand, clear skies, and beautiful blue waters – what more could you need?
My favorite summer days are spent at the beach, walking along the water, dining at the beachfront cafes, playing sand volleyball, or lounging with my girlfriends. Two of my favorite beaches are North Avenue Beach – which is always a party – with beautiful views of the city, and Oak Street Beach, which is right downtown and more secluded. It’s the perfect setting for watching the boats come in and out of the harbors, paddle boarding, or grabbing lunch with a view!
