Is it just me or is finding the perfect plaid blazer hard? I feel like so many girls can pull them off well but then you try them and either the fabric is too drapey or feels cheap, the fit is too stuffy, the vibe is too grandpa or you just look like you’re trying too hard. At least that is how I felt until I found this gem that has literally given my closet a little extra life for fall! The fit and cut of this Larsen Blazer from Madewell is chic and effortless but doesn’t feel too tailored. I love the tones of the brown and lavender and how it pairs with black or your basic washed denim. I’m wearing a small.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m pregnant or because life has slowed down and any reason to get dressed usually means something casual but throwing a blazer over your basics is like putting on a power suit. It gives you this confidence like “yep, I styled this.” Immediately pulled together and a little bit elevated for whatever is on the calendar.
Fall always inspires me to put a little extra effort behind my personal style. Maybe it’s the layers or the classic style but I find myself reaching for more textures and more pulled together outfits once the temperatures drop. Madewell just released some dreamy new arrivals like this sherpa shirt coat, this gorgeous pointelle cable cardigan, this plaid peplum top and this ruffle yoke sweater.
I feel like this outfit would make for the perfect, easy Thanksgiving outfit. Whether you’re cooking at home or visiting with close family/friends. Sophisticated yet casual.
