Cookbooks are one of my favorite things to collect and have come in very handy over the past two months. When you’re cooking three meals a day, 7 days a week (with a few meals ordered out here and there) cookbooks become your best friend. I am grateful to have a handful of recipes that my family loves and that is thanks to these cookbooks that I trust and love!

If I had to pick the best cookbooks for family meals I would say The Defined Dish (she even has a kids section!) or Half Baked Harvest Super Simple (she makes simple ingredients look and taste incredible!).

When I want something light and fresh and made with whole, real ingredients I always reach for It’s All Good.

Skinnytaste was one of the first food blogs I ever read and I still love all of her recipes! She also has a One & Done cookbook full of easy recipes.

What’s Gaby Cooking and Smitten Kitchen are two of my favorites when I want to get creative! Easy enough but recipes I wouldn’t easily think to make together!

I’ve already preordered Ina Garten’s new cookbook – Modern Comfort Food!

I added all of my favorite cookbooks to my Amazon shop if you’d like to browse! Is there one I missed?? I’m always looking to add more to my collection!

  1. I LOVE Magnolia Table and the second one – OMG it is so good. I’ve made 3-4 recipes from it thus far and every one has been incredible! Highly recommend if you’re looking for another cookbook to add to the collection.

  2. Liz I am with you! My cookbook collection is one of my favorite things! My mom and I have collected every single one of Ina’s books–they’re not only gorgeous and fun to read but so user friendly! I also use Skinnytaste One and Done a lot, but my ride or die is Half Baked Harvest!! She is my number one site I check each morning and I type in the website, no clicking link in profile I know what I’m after! Haha. This is a great collection–my mom has also gotten me hooked on Salt, Fat, Acid and Heat. The illustrations are so beautiful, it gives great tips and there’s some delicious recipes in it (my whole family now requests that granola from my mom every time we go over there!).

  3. As a cookbook lover and collector myself, I love all of these, thank you for sharing! I would love to know which specific recipes you love from each cookbook, I think that would be great discussion topics to discuss any favorites! Also any advice on where you store your cookbooks? I moved to a house recently and am trying to find the best place to keep them so that they are handy but not clutter adding if that makes sense! thanks again 🙂

  4. Both of Chrissy Teigen’s cookbooks are my fave, and Salt Fat Acid Heat is AMAZING. It has recipes in addition to teaching you about different elements of cooking/how various ingredients go together to create the perfect dish.

  5. Gabys new cookbook is even better than the last one! I also love the pretty dish by howsweeteats.
