It may sound cheesy but I am a sucker for a good inspirational quote. On days when it feels like everything is caving in, a good quote serves as a reminder that it could be far worse. I feel like they are a quick pick me up. In high school I used to write letters to my best friends and would fold them up into tiny little pockets and on top I would write something inspirational. Something like “everything happens for a reason” or “adventure starts where plans end.” My role has always been the cheerleader when it comes to my family and friends and maybe quotes are a way to speak my inner optimism. Either way, they work.

Have you ever heard the song Everyone is Free to Wear Sunscreen? I used to listen to it allllll.the.time. Now that I’m older I feel like so much of what is says rings true. Life goes by, we are too busy growing up to realize our parents are growing old, we ignore compliments people give us, we feel lost in what our true purpose may be – life, man. It’s rough.
