I’m in a really weird place when it comes to my style. I still have about 10 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-baby weight and until I stop breastfeeding I just have to learn to love the extra lbs. It’s strange to shop for your body when it doesn’t feel familiar. There are so many items that I want to buy but I know that won’t work for my current situation. That being said, I’ve been drawn to more classic styles that I know I can trust now and later.
A comment I get frequently on my blog and my social channels is wishing I would share more budget friendly items in my wardrobe. To be honest, I’m really picky about what I buy. I don’t shop that often but when I do I invest in items that I know I’ll wear again and again. If you browse my outfit archives, I’m sure you’d notice that nothing I wear is super trendy. My style stays pretty consistent which is why I justify spending money on specific items. Also, at my age, I’m sick of spending $75-100 on a top only to have it look like shit after one wash. It really annoys me. I’d rather spend X amount on a blouse that maybe I have to dry clean but it is good quality. I digress but the items that get worn in my closet are those that I invested in because they stay in style year after year.
These items include: a classic trench coat, a good cashmere sweater, jeans that make you feel like a million bucks, a great tee that goes with everything, ballet flats, a statement bag (on my wishlist!!!), bold sunglasses, a dress that makes you feel pretty…the list goes on.
What are you buying for Spring??
